I booked a Friday and Saturday night stay for my partner's birthday. I always book hotels but decided to give a b&b a try for a more personal touch. I almost instantly regretted my decision as when we arrived the owner greeted us very coldly, told us where to park, sit etc with very little warmth. I really did feel... More

We stayed overnight whilst meeting friends in Canterbury. Chose this B & B based on trip Adviser and ability to park the car. Cannot overstate our pleasure at having found such a nice welcoming and well presented accommodation.( Unlike the experience of our friends who stayed at the other end of town). The room was furnished to a high standard... More

Forget staying in hotels and get a sense of an extremely well presented B&B. As many others have said great attention to detail and fully deserving of its 5 stars. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. We followed up her good suggestions like eating at The Goods Shed which is beside the station. Deeson's in Sun Street is recommended... More

I have been meaning to write this for a while to say how wonderful our impromptu visit was! We stayed here last minute and were really happy with what we found. The room was gorgeous, with a lot of thoughtful touches, clean and cosy. The shower was great and the bed very comfy. The hostess was very welcoming and went... More

We chose this B&B because of its location. In fact the owner did not allow us to park outside despite there being at 5 spaces using the feeble excuse that all the following night's guests might magically arrive at 10.30 in the morning! We would have been much better placed if we had stayed outside Canterbury and used the 'Park... More

Definitely our favourite accommodation out of 7 weeks of travel throughout Europe and Britain. We stayed in the Garden Room and felt like royalty. Loved the 4-poster bed and all the added touches which made our stay so comfortable and luxurious. After mainly experiencing impersonal hotel rooms and uninterested staff, it was such a relief to be sincerely welcomed, pampered,... More

We had read about Magnolia House and were a little disappointed in it. The room was lovely and had a good bathroom and lighting. There was even a dressing table which is always nice. The welcome tray was also nice and the frig even had a welcome bottle of wine. A very nice young man greeted us, told us about... More

I had a lovely experience at this hotel. I was at Canterbury for an interview and due to nerves (I think!) I left something in my room, which Isobelle posted to me without taking a penny. Otherwise, very attentive (but not over the top) atmosphere in a lovely, well-appointed hotel. I liked the little touches in the rooms: sewing kit,... More

We stayed in the Garden Room of MH and I have to say it was impeccable, the smallest details are catered for in the room in regards to extras such as tea coffee, drinks and cookies which are all included. The room was beautifully presented as was the rest of the house and garden. The four poster bed was really... More

My partner and I stayed in Room 4 of Magnolia House and had a lovely, relaxing and very comfortable stay. We had been saving up for a special weekend away and spent a little more than we were intending to when we booked Magnolia House (my partner was hoping for a £19 Travelodge deal) but I was absolutely thrilled by...
