Lovely place! Room warm, comfortable bed, hot shower. Loved the walk to our room across the roof and the fantastic view of the cathedral from the garden. Good hot breakfast - what's not to like? Friendly staff made the stay everything we had hoped for and more for the important occasion of our daughter's graduation. I recommend.

Great little affordable hotel in an unbeatable central location. You can really sense the history of the place with all the crooked walls/floors/door frames, etc. Following a request from us we were given a room on a low level with a beautiful 4-poster bed. Both the room and new/modern bathroom were spotless. Staff were all friendly and helpful and the... More

We have just returned from this hotel. We had a fantastic stay. The hotel is old with lots of character. The location is superb, right next to the Cathedral. Parking is no more than a few minutes walk with hotel discount on parking. All the staff were very helpful. We had a lovely ensuite room. Breakfast was pleasant.

Another great stay at my favourite Canterbury hotel. The staff here are amazingly helpful and friendly (but not obtrusively so). I always choose 'Chimes' as it has a wonderful view of the Cathedral and is away from the front. Breakfast (I have the continental) is always good.

We had two delightful single rooms in a fantastic location with views right over the beautiful cathedral at the rear of the hotel and the charming cobbled square in front. The shared bathrooms were sparkling, staff were lovely and we were particularly impressed at how the management handled some excessively rowdy New Year revelling that went on all night and... More

Quite local but never had a real look around Canterbury.. so whilst attending a wedding took the opportunity to start 2016 in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.. the wonky floors and doors with the rooftop access with views of the cathedral gave an fantastic setting to have.. being dead centre of Canterbury ease of access to everything the coffee shops,... We loved this hotel just next door to the wonderful gate of the cathedral. We arrived late of the first day of our trip to England. The staff was friendly and helpful, carrying our luggage up the few (but narrow) stairs to our room facing onto the square. After settling in, we were able to have a fun evening walk... More

What a lovely old, quirky hotel. 3 ladies shared a lovely large room overlooking the street. Beautifully furnished and lovely bathroom. Ear plugs were a nice touch if you are a light sleeper as it was quite lively during the evening but we loved looking out of the window at everyone and enjoyed the atmosphere. Staff were very helpful and... More

I visited on 20th December. It's a hotel with a lot of history and character. The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms clean and comfortable. The location is ideal right in the centre of Canterbury with views of the cathedral.

We stayed here for two nights the weekend before Christmas. It's a nice friendly warm hotel. The room was clean and the shower was nice warm and powerful. I have no complaints ref Hotel or room. Just an observation...The bed was a little on the small side being a 4'6 bed. Canterbury was lively to say the least! There were... More
