After ten days in France we spent one night here before driving 350 miles north. We were welcomed most warmly on arrival, and we were assured that our car would be very safe in the hotel car park. Our bedroom (number 2) was charmingly decorated and well furnished and we had a lovely view of the large garden . Our... more

This hotel is a typical old country house hotel located just south of Canterbury. The location is perfect for Canterbury and the surrounding areas, just far enough out of town to avoid all the noise of revelry. The staff were great with me extremely flexible and helpful especially the really tall chap (think his name is Henry?). I was jet-lagged... more

The accommodation was OK, simple and adequate, although there was only a bath, no shower. But I had arranged (and paid for) breakfast and dinner (3 courses) Breakfast was average, but dinner was disgusting. It appeared to be old meals from the day before heated up. The tarte tatin was particularly ghastly and still cold when it was served! Also... more

I stayed here with my 2 year old son and aunt for one night in March - we shared a family room with one double and two single beds. Room was lovely, looked newly decorated and charming - bearing in mind we had a dog with us the decoration was FAR better than some far more expensive hotels have had... more

The hotel was very reasonable - not fantastic but pretty good. My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights for a break in Canterbury. The hotel was in a good location - not right in the centre but within a ten minute walk. The staff were very pleasant, informal and made us feel welcome. Our room (No. 9) was... more

The Ebury is in a nice building and it was spotlessly clean... I want to acknowledge the positives because it does have some - I would not critisise the decor as others have because, to be fair, I think it is traditional and in keeping with the building. The service seemed well intentioned if not terribly visible, it was a... more

Stayed for one night in one of the flats to the rear of the hotel which was great value for my wife and I with the three children. The hotel manger was great, even brought the dog to the hotel so that my son could see him after seeing the dog on the web site. Room was very clean and... more

We stayed 2 nights at the hotel while visiting relatives in the area. It is almost 60 years since I left Canterbury for Canada, but the hotel's location, about a 15 minute walk from the cathedral was important to us for visiting my parents' graves in the cathedral precincts. We were very pleased with all aspects of the the hotel... more

We know this part of the world well and usually stay at a B&B nearby. This being partly closed due to refurbishment we looked on Tripadvisor for an alternative. On the whole reports were favourable so we went ahead and booked for three nights at the Ebury. We were a little taken aback when on arrival we were greeted in... more

We arrived on a rainy Saturday afternoon and had a warm welcome with the fireplace in the reception room burning and giving the place a romantic atmosphere. We were guided to the room, which had a nice view on the garden and then spend the rest of the afternoon in the pool and the jacuzzi. The Breakfast room is traditional... more
