We stayed for two nights early November in room 28. The room was spacious and full of character and charm , yes the floorboards creaked but the building is 600 years old, we would have been disappointing if they did'nt. The staff were wonderfully helpful. The room was clean ,bed comfy and tea and coffee supplies plentiful. The location is perfect just... More

What a pleasant hotel. Being one used to modern fixtures and fittings, it was refreshing to really strip back the travel experience and go to a place with so much charm and history. Situated just outside of Canterbury high street you are in perfect distance to everything you could possibly need. The room was clean and well stocked with tea... More

This was our first stay at The Falstaff, despite having visited Canterbury several times over the past few years and both of us having been students there in the early 80s. The hotel is situated right by the Westgate and thus convenient for the numerous shopping, pubs and restaurants Canterbury offers. Close to the Marlowe Theatre too (less than 5... More

This was the third time we have stayed in the Falstaff Hotel & have seen the hotel change ownership. On this occasion we met up with friends at the hotel as we were all attending a concert at the Marlow Theatre. Both rooms were booked way back in March 2012 at a rate of £99 per night & thus we... We stayed in a room in the main hotel which overlooked the road. It was clean and had lots of character - timber panelled walls etc., however, the one thing I noticed about the whole of the hotel was the state of the carpets. The staircases were threadbare and there was gaffa tape covering the holes throughout the corridors and... More

This was our first visit to Canterbury, and i was certainly not disapointed. A superb city with fabulous shopping, great pubs ( too many to mention them all, but a special note for the Bishops Finger) and friendly people. What could beat that? Well for starters, The Falstaff! Absolutely marvelous. Friendly hopeful staff from reception to breakfast service. Clean, warm... More

Great location and free parking. Room in the woodmill was quiet apart from creaky floorboards upstairs. Went for a drink in the bar and the settee was so worn out and dirty we didnt want to sit on it. Please buy a new one. The breakfast was the worst I've ever had. Tinned fruit for a start! I ordered just... More

5 minutes walk from the station,(West), and I found the reception very easy and helpful. Kristina (?) wasvery helpful with any information that I asked for. My room was on a main road so there was plenty of traffic, and also a lot of young people going home after a night out, but the bed was great and comfortable, also... More

I've stayed at the Falstaff once before and not had any problems, even had a lovely four poster room over looking the main street. However, this time around we weren't so lucky, I was severely disappointed and sadly I won't be going back. It started off badly when I realised we had the rooms on the ground floor that look... This is a lovely hotel, full of history and character. It was clean, we'll located and a really interesting place to stay. Our four poster room was absolutely fantastic, roomy and well equipped. Breakfast was excellent with a huge choice of cereal, fruit, breads and full English. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is perfectly located for sightseeing as... More
