This hotel is in a perfect location for the town centre and restaurants. Our room was not in the main building and was very spacious. It was clean and the bed was the comfiest I have ever slept in. Breakfast was ok but slow to refill the cooked components, we were not in a hurry so didn't mind waiting. Considering... More

I know this is an old building, that has charm and requires more maintenance than new buildings. But that is not an excuse for not replacing roof tiles and not cleaning out gutters ( these issues caused the leaks ) or even giving the carpet a good deep clean. The staff were very pleasant, and hard working, especially the duty... More

On first impressions everything looks ok check in was good as we had arrived at 9-45am after a drive of over three & a half hours. We told reception that we were travelling up to Wembley stadium to watch rugby league final & would be back late in the evening.when we returned we got straight in to our room & had... I stayed overnight with my three children in a family room.I had previously stayed in the Tap rooms with a friend. My first experience was better. The room rate was good for all 4 of us,although the two reception staff had a short discussion about how I had been charged the wrong rate without including me. The room was fine, clean and... More

Really well placed for visiting historic part of Canterbury as well as close to the University area. Spacious, easily-accessed car park a real boon so close to the West Gate. Quiet, pleasant bar - no restaurant. Breakfast a bit disappointing - kept running out of everything at 9.30 (breakfast until 11.00 at weekends). Room 27, 4-poster in old part of... More

The Falstaff is definitely your place. My parents were visiting over the weekend and we wanted to visit Canterbury. The Falstaff Hotel helps you to get immersed in this incredible city. The hotel has so much history but is very well kept. On top of that the staff are incredibly friendly, which at the end of the day is what... More

Stayed for two nights early August with group of friends on a walking weekend. Very convenient location and very comfortable. Adequate parking, which is very convenient given the location close to centre of the City.

My husband & Istayed for two nights to visit Canterbury for the weekend. A beautiful building with lots of nooks & crannies and history. There are two annexes - the Old Mill and the Tap rooms which are both just across the hotel car park. We had room 49 in the Old Mill which was a spacious comfortable room on... More

My wife and I stayed for one night here. The building is beautiful, the staff are lovely and the breakfast was great. As other reviewers have pointed out the quietest rooms are in the Old Mill and ones facing away from the street as it is on a busy road of which the hotel can do nothing about. We had... More
