Booking last minute we got the last room in the hotel which was Shanghai on the top floor. Although small it had everything needed to make the stay very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and knowledgable, particularly with their recommendation of the Farmers Market restaurant for dinner which was top notch. The hotel is very old and atmospheric with... We loved the House of Agnes. It is close to the centre of Canterbury with car parking, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff are helpful and the breakfast delicious. It tastes as if someone has taken trouble with it and there are daily specials. The building also appealed to us, it is old and looks rather eccentric but... More

My first reaction upon arriving at the House of Agnes was that it was overrated, but I was so wrong. The Inn is old but comfortably furnished with modern amenities in each room. However, the highlight of the inn has got to be Sandie, the owner, who is always around to offer a smile and brilliant suggestions for your visit.... More

It's hard to believe that a hotel so historic could be so comfortable and welcoming. We stayed for four nights and toured Canterbury and National Trust properties in easy driving distance. The location is perfect, and the staff is warm and knowledgeable. Breakfast is delicious, with daily special treats.

We had an overnight stay in this little Gem of an hotel whilst visiting Canterbury, it is excellently placed for Canterbury being only a two minute walk to the town center, we found the staff to be most friendly and helpful, we stayed on a Bed & Breakfast basis and the breakfast was plentiful and of a high quality, we... My mother and I stayed here for 2 nights in Aug. 2014. Canterbury is a neat town and this facility is an EXCELLENT location--everything is within walking distance. There is on-site secure parking (rare!). Just as a warning, there is a weird tunnel-thing you have to drive thru in order to enter the facility...I believe if you know about it... More

Booked because of the good reviews and was not disappointed. Stayed in a stable room, yes, the train does pass very closely to the back wall, but it seemed fairly quiet, and did not disturb. Great location. We walked from the train to the hotel and of course, everywhere else in town. These breakfasts were good with buffet as well... More

that we stayed in for one night only. I loved the room, which was on the top floor and had a romantic theme to it. The colours were very subtle and even the way the TV had been mounted did not detract from the feel of the room.. There are beams and in places the ceiling is lower and I... More

Hubby and I stayed here for a couple of nights and we loved it. We spent the first night in a Stable Room which was fabulous. If you are a light sleeper you may need the earplugs they provide as it is close to the railway, but it's more than well worth putting up with earplugs for. The second night... More

One if the best B&B I have ever stayed in. We stayed in one if the stable rooms which was clean, modern furnished and very cozy. The cooked beach fast was to die for, full of fresh, local produce and plenty of choice. The staff are friendly and warm and the honesty bar is such a good idea. I will... More
