What a perfect place to stay whilst visiting the lovely city of Canterbury!! It's in the ideal location and steeped in history. Sandie and the staff are so friendly, accommodating and helpful. We felt so welcome and comfortable. We stayed in the Paris room which was lovely. Low beamed ceiling, comfy bed, steps down to a large separate bathroom with... More

Stayed here for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed it! Staff were very helpful and efficient, location was ideal for town and restaurants, hotel was clean and breakfast was fabulous! I had a small double in the main building and although it was a little small it would have been fine for two for a couple of nights. My friend booked... More

Customer service at this hotel was excellent from greeting at reception, helping with luggage to room, information about room, ordering a taxi, parking and excellent breakfast. We highly recommend this hotel for service and location and although quirky was very comfortable.

This was our 4th visit and certainly won't be our last! Sandy is always so welcoming as are all her staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Breakfast is brilliant especially the Eggs Benedict. We stayed in the Venice room which has a little terrace and private entrance at the back of the hotel which is handy for the... More

This time I stayed in the converted stable block. Room was comfortable and very clean. Modern so lacking in character. Service at House of Agnes is always very good. Love the bar and comfortable lounge plus beautiful gardens. Beakfast is freshly cooked and of a high quality. This is my third stay here.

Spent two nights in the Canterbury room to coincide with our wedding anniversary. Rang before hand for a surprise bouquet of flowers which was no problem. Room was great and the staff were too. Breakfast was more than adequate to set us up for the day and the honesty bar a nice touch for a late nightcap. All in all... More

This time we stayed in "Paris" which is full of charm and character. Quirky low ceiling in places. Great bathroom with huge bath. All clean and well-maintained. Staff go out of their way to be helpful. Breakfast "specials" much enjoyed. Look forward to finding another excuse to visit.

I've stayed multiple times at the house of Agnes, and I would highly recommend it to anyone. I love its themed rooms, and the staff are great. I've stayed in the Paris, Mumbai and Tokyo rooms. The décor in the rooms and the general areas downstairs, such as the lounge and breakfast room, is beautiful. Breakfast is great and the... More

We stayed two nights in the Tokyo room. The room is clean and comfortable with all modern conveniences despite the house being hundreds of years old. The breakfasts were delicious. The owner is gracious and committed to making your stay a first class experience. We had to leave early to get to the airport. She quickly adjusted her schedule to... More

We were delighted to be visiting Canterbury again and to be able to go back to the House of Agnes. This time we stayed in the Morrocan suite, which has its own entrance and is spacious and full of character. Breakfast was delicious and, as before, the staff were friendly and helpful. Sadly, we could only stay the one night... More
