My partner and I were driving through St. Albans on a Saturday night when we thought we'd stop somewhere to chill out and have a drink. We noticed the hotel and a sign about live piano music every Friday or Saturday. There was a young man (we have forgotten his name) who was playing piano at the bar, and it... More

We visited St Albans as a day trip as it has lots of dog friendly places. The White Hart is shown as dog friendly so we headed there, on arriving my partner out of courtesy went to ask if it allowed dogs, the answer was yes so we headed in. The landlord then asked us to leave because our dogs... More

We booked a family room which was at the top of the hotel. As you enter the room you smell the toilet which is a Saniflow. Just laid on a single bed which is a mattress topper on top of wooden slats - very uncomfortable. The double bed is two single beds with single quilts pushed together but is better... More

We stayed her travelling back from Torquay, what a gem. It is so historic our room a double superior was really lovely. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was amazing I have been lucky enough to eat at some amazing restaurants this was up there. Breakfast too was really good I would recommend.

Had lunch here as a guest at a small reception. We had a lovely private dining room which opened onto the garden. The dining room, bars etc are lovely (old Tudor building). The food was very good and was reasonable value.

We loved this historic, charming hotel in the center of a town that shouldn't be missed. We were there during the St. Albans Festival and thoroughly enjoyed the town, the cathedral, and the White Hart Hotel.

We loved our 2 night stay at the White Hart. We have 3 teenagers and we found our room to be clean and just the right size for all of us. The food was AMAZING we ended up eating all of our meals at the hotel as the servers were so nice and everyone really enjoyed their meals. We felt... More

Booked a family room. The 'bed' for our son was an ancient metal frames sofa bed which couldn't be opened as it was a foot from the bottom of our bed (which was 2 very old singles pushed together). The 'bedding' for our 12 year old son was a single dirty, stained thin duvet - no sheet or pillow! We... More

This particular family room complex has two rooms next to each other with a bathroom between the two. The small corridor is completely private to the apartment. I must admit that our experience is that most children of this sort of age like the separate room. Normally when 3 or 4 people book this unit, the two rooms are set... More

We stayed for one night in the family room at the top of the building. We had a very rude welcome at Reception - we had a dog with us (and had booked with a dog) and apparently we shouldn't have been allocated that room by whoever had answered our phone call to book. Was this our fault? Clearly not,... More

I think we are the only hotel is St. Albans city centre that takes dogs. On the this evening the hotel was full and so we give this gentleman a large room that would not normally be given to guests with pets. This had been pre-allocated so I think he may have misunderstood the receptionist's comments. The room is on... More

I enjoyed my short stay at the white hart hotel the room was very clean and the staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. The hotel is situated right in the heart of the town, very convenient for shops and restaurants.
