Not sure why there were some complaints below from an unsatisfied guest / visitor? I have had the pleasure of resting my head in this establishment many times over the past weeks / Month. Enjoyed Breakfasts and evening meals (very nice) Staff are friendly, a good selection of beers and wines. And I am looking forward to booking in tomorrow... More

Just had a lunch with an long term friend at the Tudor Restaurant at the hotel. Initially though this was going to cost an arm and a leg.....however wonderful and large portions of pasta at less than eight pounds in a great setting. If you're in the area take the time to try.

Second time I've stayed here and I'm feeling a little less benevolent this time. The first room I stayed in was a single so I was relaxed that it had a small bathroom somehow feeling it probably wasn't the norm. I'm now in a double and the bathroom is equally meagre, the carpets dirty and the place is generally lacking... More

The room that this guest stayed in has some deliberately distressed style furniture which can be misleading. The carpets are cleaned every day and are not dirty. Our bathrooms all have modern power showers. With respect to the food, most people really enjoy our menu and we receive many compliments about the quality. We are sorry that the food was... More

a horrible experience! grubby dirty place.....old bed, pillows bad, carpet stained, bathroom to fit Ken & Barbie , staff who ignore you even when you are struggling with bags or in front of them, the place is falling to bits.......really pushing it to say quaint and quirky? Food....basic. BEST THING ABOUT IT LEAVING ASAP ROOM NOT CHEAP FOR WHAT YOU... More

This is a gratuitously rude review. For a start we are an old coaching inn which was built on 1470 so all the rooms are different and there is not a right angle in sight. As you can see from the vast majority of our reviews, our guests love the hotel. All the beds are quite new and the pillows... More

we stopped here for lunch with our children on a visit to St. Albans. The staff were really accommodating and set up a lovely area for all of us to eat outside. The food was excellent, home cooked and well presented. The children's meals were also really nice and not the usual fayre you would have at a pub. We... More

We stayed here in March as we were visiting St Albans for a friend’s birthday celebration. The hotel is very central and has the added bonus of a free car park – a bit small, but we didn’t have any difficulty finding a space. We were given Room 4, a superior room which was nicely decorated and a reasonable size.... More

We didn't stay here, just stopped for dinner. Food and service was brilliant and we plan to come again and stop for a night or two. I am surprised the owners don't have much of the inn's history on their website; I found a site that gives a really interesting history. They should also mention their proximity to The Harry... This is a great place to stay when in St Albans, its a real old hotel but the rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. The staff are very friendly and location is great. We will stay here again when next in St Albans.

My children stayed at The White Hart for a weekend get away. Feedback on the rooms was excellent, staff very friendly and the food was good with large helpings. My experience of the booking was mixed. I obtained information from the female owner and she was very friendly and helpful. I later spoke to her husband and found that he... More

Stayed for 2 nights and had a superior room. Room lovely, very clean couldn't fault it. We had breakfast here both days and it was really nice. I even complimented the chef on the first morning as it was so nice. The hotel is full of character, sloping floors and ceilings, lots of nooks and crannies to explore.
