stayed here on Saturday night and its a lovely B&B, beautiful rooms very clean and tidy and everything provided. Our room actually had its own living room which was nice to be a little bit separated from the bedroom. its right in the heart of st Albans which is great but you'd never know in terms of the noise, the... What a great location and so quiet and relaxing. Our bedroom had two windows - one with views of the cathedral and the other of the shops and the city. We had the comfiest bed with beautifully laundered white cotton sheets. The bathroom was huge with a fabulous deep bath which I couldn't resist. We went into St. Albans for... More

We stayed here on a Thursday weeknight when my boyfriend, a stage manager was working on a play that had come to town. Through his job, he's stayed in all kinds of places (& me by default freeloading actress coming & visiting him;) on tour, varying in quality due to the budget of the theatre company. On this particular tour,... More

I booked this B&B at the last moment when I had to stay over in St Albans. The reviews were excellent on TripAdvisor and they were right! The location, just of the St Albans cathedral must be the most prime location in St Albans, with extraordinary views to match! The rooms and very clean and comfortable. It would have even... More

Very well located in the heart of St. Albans within 100m of the cathedral and other visitor attractions. Excellent breakfast prepared personally by Alberto himself. Room choice is difficult - all have their plus points.

My partner and I had booked the hotel for 3 nights. We decided to drive from Scotland and unfortunately I was very ill on the drive down and my girlfriend had picked up the same bug as me. This was not to hamper the stay though as when we arrived we were greeted by Jacqui who was very helpful and... More

Stayed recently for one night during a business visit. Hosts were extremely attentive and accommodating. Lovely setting within St Albans, and a delicious breakfast from chef Alberto! Recommend and would re-visit.

I have just come back from our stay at Tankerfield House in St Albans & it truly was a lovely stay!!! The bed & breakfast is absolutely superb. Lovely, old, quirky house right in the middle of St Albans. Jacqui is a wonderful host and makes you feel very welcome. We stayed in the green room which was fabulous, this... More

have just returned from my third visit staying at tankerfield house. what a gem of a b and b. I just love the quirkiness of this place. I have stayed in all rooms now and I am not sure which one is my favourite....they are all individual. Jacqui is a most welcoming and helpful hostess while alberto serves the most... More

We stayed for a night a couple of weeks ago in The White Room. Lovely room, lovely hosts, lovely breakfast, really great location. The house itself is rather special too. Was a real pleasure to stay. Much nicer than chain hotel.
