The staff here are so friendly and helpful and make you feel welcome and special. The food, spa rooms and all other facilities are great. The beauty therapist was excellent. The grounds are of a very high standard.

Sopwell House is what you imagine an English country manor would be--if you were "to the manor born," which few of us Americans are! Gracious, welcoming, professional, not to mention a simply gorgeous property. Bring some classic novels you've been putting aside for too long and transport yourself to another time and place.

I'd booked into the day spa and a night in the hotel by myself after birthday plans had fallen through and was very disappointed with the spa experience - after reading descriptions such as 'calm', 'tranquil' and 'soothing' on the website, I didn't expect to have to share the pool with 5 unsupervised children (parents nowhere to be seen and... A group of girls stayed here for one night and we had a fantastic time. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and the rooms themselves were luxurious. We had afternoon tea and then breakfast the following morning, both of which were lovely. The staff in the morning prepared a table for the whole group especially and we were really pleased.... More

2 of us stayed for a 2 night break for 40th Birthday celebrations. The rooms were beautiful and I had the best nights sleep in a long time(have a small child!). All the hotel staff from the receptionists through to the waiting staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful. It was pricey but to be expected in a hotel of... More

Stayed here for two nights, on arrival we were upgraded which was nice! Staff were attentive and looked after us, Mo took us to our room and even helped unload our car as we had lots of baggage for a wedding. Ate in the brasserie for the first evening, this was excellent. Breakfast was of a high standard especially when... More

We had a fabulous stay; our twin room was lovely with very comfy beds, we had a lovely light lunch in the cocktail lounge and had two great treatments at the spa. The therapists we had at the spa were excellent, especially Jessica and Holly who provided amazing facials and massages. The spa in general was very good, lovely swimming... More

Just a short one night stop over stay. The staff were extremely polite and everyone from the gardener to the chef greats you and smiles. There are also lots of staff at hand especially at breakfast. The last 'posh' hotel we stayed in, there was just 2 staff at breakfast, I counted 8 from where I was sitting at breakfast.... More

My boyfriend, his daughter and granddaughter recently stayed a night at Sopwell House in order to visit Harry Potter World. We were all impressed by the grounds and overall look of the hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, despite it clearly being a busy day for them with a wedding and what appeared to be a "hen" party.... More

Disappointing visit (twice now). The good things are the food is great and the gardens are lovely. On the negative the staff are not particularly friendly and the spa is particularly badly managed with far too many people let it at once which leaves it cramped and busy). Shame. Will not be visiting soon.
