We spent one night at this lovely property and would have loved to prolong our stay. From the moment we arrived we felt 'at home' thanks to the welcome we received from Tom, Jane and their daughter Sophie. The roaring log fire in the entrance hall was so welcoming! The garden added to the beautiful setting with the spring flowers,... More

We stayed recently at this magnificent and historic house in the centre of the small and friendly Herefordshire village of Dilwyn, and can thoroughly recommend it. We received a very warm welcome from owners Jane and Tom, and soon settled into the extremely comfortable and spacious accommodation. We stayed in `Sophie`s Room` which was large and elegantly furnished, and with... More

My wife and I stayed for two nights for a luxurious and relaxing break. The house and its history, gardens were beautiful. We stayed in the Rebecca room which was huge with its own very spacious bathroom with bath and shower. The bed was one of the most comfortable you could get which contributed to an excellent nights sleep. Tom and... More

The house is located in the village of Dilwyn and a car is essential to get around the area for sightseeing. It’s a lovely historic house dating back in parts to Tudor times. There were four of us in two twin rooms with a shared bathroom. We had the use of a sitting room off the dining room, which was... More

We have just stayed here for 2 nights with family and our hosts Jane and Tom who were very nice. The house is about 400 years old and that is what you pay for. Breakfast was very good and to top itoff Jane makes her own bread from scratch. It is fantastic. We enjoyed our stay.

This beautiful house has parts that are more than 500 years old and Charles II may have danced on the landing outside our room, but there were no eccentricities of plumbing and it was comfort all the way. We had two nights there during the Hay Festival and could not fault the welcome, the cooking (breakfast and dinner) or anything... More

I stayed at The Great House a couple of weeks ago when I was in Hereford to attend a friends wedding. From the moment I arrived on the Friday evening, Tom and Jane's hospitality was like I was staying with old friends, not like a B&B. I couldn't have asked for more in terms of comfort, service....and not forgetting the... More

Some friends introduced us to the Great House after their visit in 2011 and we weren't disappointed. Tom and Jane welcomed us to their historic but very comforable home with lovely gardens. Our two-day stay for the Hay Festival was enhanced by the very best of home cooking. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again

My wife and I enjoyed a two night stay at he Great House last week. I had pre-booked dinner for our first night, and this was so good that we immediately asked if we could dine in again on the second night. The house has a long history and many fine features, and it has been upgraded with taste and... More
