We found the Cricketers a pleasant and welcoming place. Our room was spacious, with a large comfortable bed, tea making facilities and free wifi. The bathroom was huge with a shower over the bath, not ideal but manageable and the full English breakfast lived up to expectations. The pub is in a lovely village and well suited for visiting Winchester.... More

After trying this pub for a Sunday roast before Xmas, we decided to book it for a 60th birthday celebratory lunch for 30 people. Leading up to the day the owner was really helpful with any queries that we had. Everyone pre-booked their choice of food from the 3-course Sunday set menu to make it easier for the kitchen on... Arrived in the evening. Great atmosphere in the pub. Very friendly hosts. Rooms were spacious, clean, with tea/coffee making facilities and toiletries for that extra touch. Comfy beds, great shower and breakfast was very enjoyable.

This is a lovely place to stay with easy access to winchester. The food at night is exceptional. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The only dissapointment of the whole stay was the cereal offered at breakfast.

Check in was nice and easy and the room was a nice surprise. It was spacious, clean and cosy. We had a meal and it was excellent, the best pub meal in a long time. The only minus point was they stopped serving food at 6pm on a Sunday so be aware of that. A good selection of real ales... More

We stumbled across the Cricketers while trying to find a dog friendly place to have lunch on a cold wet day. It did not disappoint. The welcoming log fire, friendly staff and deliciously hearty, warming food really made our day. The food was very reasonably priced with ample portions. There is a good choice of ales available too. I understand... More

After sampling the pub last evening just for a drink, our visit this afternoon surpassed last nights. The roast beef dinner was fantastic, My wife's roast lamb was as good as home cooked! What makes this place is the atmosphere and the welcome you get, along with the exceptional service from the staff. Our best Sunday lunch venue used to... More

Just popped down for a couple of drinks whilst staying at Morn Hill Caravan Park. We were made to feel very welcome by very welcoming, friendly staff. So much so we have booked Sunday lunch tomorrow 😃

We stayed there as a stop gap on the way to Bath. The place is in a really nice little village and a short drive from Winchester (the roads are pretty narrow - not ideal for large car owners). We ate @ the restaurant and the food was lovely and reasonably priced. the room was small but nicely furnished and... More
