A great hotel in central Winchester with very reasonable rooms. we stayed in room 6 which was large with a decent bathroom, shower only. the window was over the courtyard, which i guess might be quite loud if people were sat outside, but it was raining. we were out late both fri and sat night so noise did not trouble... This was my second visit to the restaurant and I was excited to take my wife. We sat in the garden and it soon became apparent that there were insufficient staff to cope with what was a busy Wednesday night. The food was slow to come out and the wine did not make an appearance until mid way through the... More

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at No 5 Bridge Street. Our room was comfortable and well equipped and had an excellent bathroom with a spacious walk in shower. There were plenty of toiletries provided which we found very useful. Tea and coffee facilities were better than average, with a cafetiere for 'real' coffee and high class tea... More

Pleasantly surprised by our Winchester city b&b. Service from the outset was efficient - with an email confirmation of booking, instructions on where to park at nearby Chesil multi storey car park and a pleasant greeting from the bar staff on arrival. All the staff were very professional and efficient. The bar area was very nice and we stayed in... More

Having spent a weekend at the hotel for the Winchester Hat Fair we were very disappointed with most aspects of our stay. There is absolutely no parking close to the hotel and unloading luggage is a chore, the nearest car park, which isn't free, is a good 10 minutes away. For any one with even the slightest mobility problem forget... More

Went for a birthday meal 18/06/14 and the meals were horrendous! .. Vegetable shepherds pie that had no vegetables! Was completely pureed and looked/tasted like sick. A tiny £24 steak - 1/2 of it was fat. No vegetables!! ... Chips were more like potatoes. We would give this restaurant 0 stars. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE EVER!!

This place is one of Winchester's hidden gems. It's a very nice bar, with friendly and attentive staff, and the prices (although not wetherspoons-esque) are very reasonable. It's located right next to the river, and near enough to the center of town. I found it to be a very nice experience, I would recommend a visit, when in Winchester.

We stayed over a weekend as we were attending a function in Winchester. We were aware of the DJ etc but knew we would not be back till late anyway so that was no problem. Room was great - large and well appointed with good bed, linen and décor. En-suite relatively small for room but good big shower. We had... More

We had a fantastic deal where we had dinner, bed and breakfast. We were given a wonderful meal and bottle of wine, the next morning we had a full english breakfast and thought the standard was excellent. We were in a very comfortable room with excellent facilities. I have been back since to meet relatives as it's so well located... More

Just has the most amazing Sunday lunch - roast beef and all the trimmings. I had the crab starter - delicious - my wife had the squid - really nice - will defiantly come back. The best of the group so far ( part of the white star in Southampton and the white horse on otterbourne) looking to try the... More
