Very spacious and comfortable room in a quite area made for a good night sleep. Pretty garden and yummy breakfast. Shared bathroom but it was spacious with a good shower. Amelie (hosting on behalf of the owners who were away) was charming and increadibly helpful. A short walk from central Winchester.

We stayed for one night at St. John's Croft and had a lovely time. Our room was very spacious, with a large bed, a sofa, sink and a nice garden view. Bathroom was not en-suite, but large and with a very good shower. Our host was very nice and breakfast great! Great location as well, close to pubs and restaurants... More

Found out that the hotel at which I was due to attend a conference was fully booked, so I needed to find accommodation elsewhere and stumbled across St John's Croft. As I was travelling a long distance, and it was pay per room, my wife and I decided to make a weekend of it. We were certainly not disappointed. The... More

The room was lovely, and the location was great. However I was not impressed on the first morning when breakfast was agreed at a certain time and we were kept waiting due to the owner having over slept. Also when I initially called to make the booking I was told that 75 pounds per night did not include breakfast. I... More

This is definitely a great place for B&B in Winchester. Just 5 minutes from town centre. I loved the house and my room so spacious. Dotty who runs it was such a welcoming person. Great breakfast! Highly recommended.

I stayed here recently when I was in Winchester for work. The property is quite pleasant; the rooms are clean, and it is nicely decorated. But the second night of our two-night stay, the owners apparently decided to host a party. A very noisy party, which went on til midnight, on a Thursday night, with absolutely no prior warning--I came... More

We spent a very pleasant night here and wished we could have stayed longer. We got a bit lost on the way there (our poor navigation skills) so rang Dotty who couldn't have been more helpful, talking us through the route. The house itself is in a superb location on a hill overlooking the city and no more than ten... More

I stayed in St. John's croft 9 nights, and I was very pleased. Rooms are clean and really, really nice to stay. Only minus is that sometimes room was too cold for me. The owner is helpful and english breakfast filled the stomach for many hours. Definitely worth of paying.

Looking for accommodation in Winchester as we were attending a family celebration at St John's House nearby. Found this lovely looking house whilst browsing B&Bs on TripAdvisor. Well, let's just say it did not disappoint! A beautiful old house with a breathtaking wealth of character and tons of original features still in place met our eyes. Dottie, our hostess met... More
