Had only 1 night in the hotel but really enjoyed the experience. A very friendly and warm welcome set the scene and the Bakehouse suite was lovely. The location of the suite tucked away behind a row of shops meant that it was incredibly quiet at night yet only 2 minutes walk to the cathedral. The lounge area was spacious... More

Can't comment on the rooms as we didn't stay but we really had a lovely dinner here. Gorgeous typical 'olde English' pub and visitors should take a look. The food really was good, although expensive £14.00 for a burger and chips. Such an attractive location and premises though it's definitely worth a visit if you're near Winchester.

We stayed at the Wykeham Arms for just one night on 26th August 2014. The pub is a typically quaint / old English pub / restaurant. The location, for anyone wanting to wander around Winchester, is unbeatable. The staff are very friendly. The restaurant is excellent. If I had a complaint it would be about the comfort of the bench... More

Lovely hotel and pub. Great decor. Very friendly staff, felt really welcome. Stayed in The Bakehouse which was situated across the road in the annex. It was amazing!!! Beautiful accommodation, seperate lounge and bedroom, lovely large bathroom, lots of hot water, heating, own entrance, so quiet - no noise at all. Nothing was too much trouble. 2 mins walk to... We stayed on Sunday the 17th knowing that they had kitchen refurbishment taking place so despite paying a rate for BB and evening meal we wouldn't be having an evening meal. We arrived at 12pm sat in the superbly atmospheric bar and ordered a couple of sour dough sandwiches with salad, they were wonderful. We had a couple of beers... More

We have just returned from a one night stay in the "Bakehouse Suite" which was brilliant. We parked in the car park and strolled into the pub in order to check in, the polite gentleman working offered to show us to our room to which I would normally decline, however with plenty of luggage and a 3 year old in... Arrived here on Sunday for a one night stopover. Staff were very friendly and inviting on arrival and made us feel very welcome. Lovely bar, very quirky with lots of pictures and artefacts all over the place. Also good ales and a superb range of malt whisky's. The quality of food at dinner was first class, as was the service.... More

From the welcome to the check out it was brilliant. The room was lovely and very comfortable, bathroom shower was really good, which is always a good sign of a hotel. Food was fantastic as was the service. The atmosphere in the pub was really good too. Cannot fault the Wykeham Arms at all. Would definitely go back. Only 2... More

Spent a good hour or so here for a drink in this lovely bar, which is full of character and history with lovely wooden panelled walls. It was amazing to see the old school desks being used as tables. Lots of photos, and pictures lining the walls and plenty of tankards hanging from the ceilings. Will definitely return for another... More

Nestled between the quaint, narrow streets of Winchester city-centre and a stone's throw from the beautiful Winchester Cathedral (if you haven't been, you must!), The Wykeham Arms is a surprisingly good pub with rooms, but with a boutique-hotel feel. We arrived early to attend a friend's wedding later that afternoon, but staff went out of their way to make our... More
