If you are booking this venue for its location and service then you cannot fail to be anything but impressed. However having booked this venue for a second intimate wedding we were particularly looking for somewhere which would provide our guests with a fantastic dining experience,we were extremely disappointed. The portion sizes between the different choices were very disproportionate leaving some of... My boyfriend and I stayed for 2 nights over Easter Weekend. We have had a fantastic stay and will certainly come back again. The service from all of the staff was impeccable; charming and professional. We ate dinner in The Avenue Restaurant (5 course tasting menu) - which we thoroughly enjoyed and was quite delicious. Breakfast was possibly the best... More

We booked an impromptu one night stay at Lainston over the Easter weekend and what a fantastic first visit we had. The fabulous service started from the minute we arrived in the middle of a heavy downpour - the bellboys very helpful as was the charming receptionist (pretty/blonde) who kindly upgraded our room to an executive suite in honour of... We were guests at a wedding here. Couldn't fault it ... fantastic olde worlde country house hotel in a beautiful setting, but with discreet modern facilities. Our room was huge with an amazing bathroom. Towels were large and fluffy and the shower included a rain bar. Just didn't want to get out of the bed.... so comfortable! The staff were... More

Stayed here on Business in March. I will go back, and recommend it as a 5 star luxury hotel. My wife and I stayed for 3 nights, and had 3 dinners. The menu did not change and there was no Irish whiskey, but it was a haven. We met with business associates over dinner, and the taxi service from Winchester... More

We have been invited by one of our suppliers to Lainston House. To say the least, everything was way beyond our expectation. The property is in the middle of nothing but Nature and green. Amazing sceneries anywhere you go (the best is the one out side the Pub and restaurants). The interior was great, you feel you are back few... More

Me and hubby stayed here for 2 nights before christmas and I have only just got around to reviewing it. The hotel was lovely, a former country house. our room in the attic was huge, complete with fireplace and beams with a large bathroom. My 'grips' if you can call them that - cooked breakfast wasn't included in the rate... More

The staff were friendly but not over familiar - just right! The old house is stunning and has been sympathetically converted and enlarged and is beautifully decorated. The food is excellent and there is a good range of wines and other drinks. It is quite expensive but worth it, especially for a special occasion.

This was the venue for a company retirement dinner. It was a very welcoming venue from the entrance hall with its open fire to the cosy library bar. The dinner was held in the Barn - a newer addition to the main building which you got to via an internal corridor so I did not have to brave the elements.... More
