I stayed one night in the single en suite room on the top floor, which was quiet, comfortable and cosy. Excellent breakfast and conversation from Chris. A good pub for supper is a few minutes walk away (The Queen) and the cathedral/high street is 10 minutes. I'd be happy to return.

This place may not be everyones cup of tea, a few of the normal extras are missing, the complimentary coffees and teas were very limited and the shower had seen better days as had the TV which was very small, however It provided everything I needed for my one night stay, most importantly was a good nights sleep in a... This B and B has its quirks. Arriving at 8 pm after a long journey, I felt the welcome was less than effusive but understand that it isn't always convenient for an owner. The room was nice enough, but I felt the notice asking for shoes to be removed was a bit of an imposition. However the owner, Chris, was... More

This B&B is an old Victorian building and perfect if you like a house that’s full of character! It had a very homely feel and it was just what we were after for the one night we stayed in Winchester. Chris and Margo were lovely from the start and very accommodating. They show a real interest in their guests needs... More

Although the reviews were all good , this didn't meet our expectations. The room smelt damp with black mould in places and was dusty. The breakfast was greasy and when I saw the kitchen floor was dirty I did not eat it. The owners were very nice but we felt like the property was too much for them to manage. We... More

Our pleasant trip to Winchester became even better, because Margo and Chris easily managed to create a comfortable atmosphere. We enjoyed their convincing hospitality. Beyond that they offered advice about places worth seeing. We were also looking forward to breakfast with Chris and his very good mood. Margo and Chris were able to make us feel at home. ( with... My husband and I stayed at Chris and Margo's for 5 days on a holiday in the South Downs in August 2014 and we enjoyed our stay thoroughly. The house, which is an old Victorian house with all modern furnishings, is very conveniently located close to the centre (the Cathedral, the Great Hall with the Round Table, etc.) offering a... We stayed just for one night recently and Chris and Margo were v welcoming and accommodating. Its v close to the centre and the walk along the river into town is great. Our room was of decent size and Chris was very helpful planning our second day in Winchester.

My friend and I had a lovely stay in Ranelagh B&B. We were welcomed by Chris and Margot who were very kind and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious and we felt very much at home. Great location surrounded by beautiful houses and the walk to the high street via the river is very picturesque. I highly recommend!!!

Completely enjoyed my stay at Ranelagh B & B. It is in a beautiful area of Winchester and offers very reasonable rates. Cozy, private room at the top of the stairs provided the perfect resting place during my vacation. Appreciated the friendly greeting from Chris in the morning and his helpful travel advice. Wonderful stay and would highly recommend it... More
