An overnight stay here as attending a wedding at Littleton, charming little place. The Running Horse was an ideal location. Rooms are separate from the pub, good idea. The room was modern and stylist. Lovely extras in room. Ground coffee and special teas. Breakfast was well prepared and well cooked, full marks to the chef, he knows how to cook... More

We stayed at the Running Horse for one night earlier this month to break our journey to see family in Sussex. When we arrived we were shown to our room and then offered tea in the bar. Our room and the bathroom were spotlessly clean. We booked a table for dinner and ate in the bar as the dining room... More

Firstly, the staff. We found them to be helpful, attentive and amusing. Well above the standard expected. Secondly, the food. We ate in the restaurant on two occasions and were very pleased with the menu, the food we ordered and with the way it was served. One must also say that the food and drinks were good value for money.... More

Food excellent (including breakfast), staff very obliging and helpful, room to a standard better than most and all at a reasonable price. Worth the confusing drive out of Winchester. Will definitely visit again.

Great, reasonably priced food, super service, and locally made beer, all by Upham Brewery, it has become a favourite. I haven't stayed there, but the menu is varied and concise, and the food was all beautifully cooked, everyone at the table had a cracker of a night. the bar area and restaurant are cleverly split, so it feels like a... Pubs in Hampshire come in different shapes and sizes. This one is exceptional. The welcome is great, food and beer excellent and above all they go the extra mile on service. Their staff are trained to make you feel welcome and it appears genuine. Great management, well done.

We needed somewhere to take a family of 5 that included people who needed smaller portions (child, senior citizens) as well as hungry adults. The Running Horse fitted these requirements totally. The food was very tasty. All five plates were eaten and plates left bare. A really great sign of tasty food. What with the Upham Beer, a totally terrific... More

We stayed in the motel style rooms attached to the pub. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean with power shower. The pub serves wonderful food in its restaurant and has great staff. Breakfast was amazing, choice of hot Englishes, continental, juice, cereal etc. overall an amazing stay. They take dogs too, and B & B for only £65/... More

I've lived in Littleton for eight years and the one shame about this great village was its pub was...er... well...it was crap. Successive make over's either went high end brasserie way out of kilter price wise or weird pub which just sounded like a bell out of tune. It was without doubt a shame...but as we are spoiled with lots... More
