We found this pub online and was looking for something away from the big hotels but near to Winchester. We were travelling with a 5 year old so needed something pub like but still suitable. Northbrook Arms was all this and we really appreciated the friendly attitude and helpfulness. There is a relaxed atmosphere and good free wifi. The room... More

We had lunch on Friday 24th and had a great lunch, the Northbrook looked great - clean and bright and busy which was so good to see! I had the standard fish and chips which was very good but looked rather enviously and my son's belly of pork. We live in the village and it is great to see the... More

Though I haven't stayed at the Northbrook Arms (though the bar did look very nice), I have experienced the goodwill and kindness of the New landlord how gave me a free lift home after I got a puncher on my bike. Thank you, you saved me a 10 mile walk home.

The pub is welcoming and the bar staff are very pleasant. We arrived for Sunday lunch and were shown to our table at 1.15. After about 20 minutes our order was taken. The wine list was not forthcoming until we asked for it. Our meal eventually arrived at 2.20,no apologies were offered for the delay. The meal when it arrived... More

I've now had three meals here. Last night we visited with friends and had starters and main courses which were all good. The pub is under a new tenant who has started with a bang. The place is clean and tidy with friendly attentive staff and a new chef couple. Looking forward to visiting more often, well done Ian and... More

As this pub is under new management, I thought I would take the time to review it as it's always useful. We ate here for lunch today and the food was really good and the staff polite. Our dog was welcome too which was a bonus for us.... so my husband, baby, dog and I had a lovely time as... More

Judging by the more recent reviews, this place had gone downhill recently. But things have certainly changed now - and much for the better! This is a delightful, old, characterful pub in a truly beautiful English village setting. Now under new management (apparently, they started just a week before our visit), the bar is clearly freshly decorated and a lot... More

Decided to stop here for buisness purposes. Phoned up the hotel and got a price of £70 each for 2 single rooms and as we were only 15 minutes away we drove straight there to be told that the rooms were £80 each!! After saying we would find somewhere else he changed the price back to what was said before.... More

We were staying in nearyby Blackwood Forest in January and heard about this pub that was close by. We had a dog with us so need somewhere to eat that would allow him in too. We loved it here, the staff were really friendly and they made the dog feel very welcome and had treats and a water bowl for... More

Just a 2 minute detour from the A30 brings you to this delightful pub. Have been here several times before and it has never failed to be an enjoyable experience. There is a reasonable choice of ales and a few wines. Food is nice, presented and cooked well. The village green opposite has various functions on. Nice to sit outside... More
