We booked to take the family to the pub for Sunday lunch. Six adults and 2 children aged 6 & 2years. The food was delicious but we had to wait a long time for our order to be taken and then 45 minutes to be brought out. I then had to ask them to clear the dishes away after another... More

This is a great little pub in the village of East Stratton, easy to find just off of the A33. East Stratton is a tiny village and the pub looks out onto a lovely green with benches that you can sit at in the Summer. As this was November, we sat inside. The pub is quite traditional, with a slate... More

Service, location, rooms, food... You name it all superb! We stayed in the newly reno'ed dairy and it was perfect as a couples retreat. We will absolutely be coming back again as we try and explore the area more. You're a fool if you stay anywhere else!

Busy village pub set in nice picturesque surroundings, beautiful old building with loads of character. Very comfortable bed & bedding, our best nights sleep ever away from our own bed. Excellent food from the restaurant for the evening meal, & a very tasty cooked breakfast with fresh local produce. One of the best B&B's we have ever visited. Well done... More

Staff busy in bar when we arrived just directed to our room hastily.Noisy Saniflow, comfortable beds, many wasps in room (dead and alive!) due to window being left open and foliage growing on wall outside, even on the second day when we made a point of leaving the window closed. No presence of staff at breakfast , kettle left on... More

Set in a small, quiet picturesque village with thatched cottages. We had a 2 night stay at the Northbrook Arms. We stayed in one of the rooms above the pub, room 1. Had everything we needed and enjoyed a great sleep. Couldnt hear the bar below. Breakfast was great, choice of cereals, tea, coffee, fresh orange and the full english filled me for... More

We walked from the Black Wood Forest holiday park and despite the holiday information telling us that the pub was in West Stratton we did the extra mile and a bit. When we arrived, we had some super Red Cat Panther ale. This is brewed locally in Winchester. The lunch menu was extensive and we chose Calves Liver and Bacon... More

We booked for two nights , Carfest at Overton, The room provided was The Bakery. It smelt very damp & musty on arrival and even the electric heater was on . After opening the only window that could open and after a very good evening meal ( the bed was firm & comfortable) The smell had somewhat dissipated by morning.... More

I have stayed at the Northbrook many times and have always had a good stay. However, they have recently redone all of their rooms and all the carpets. I cannot believe the change and difference!! The room we stayed in had a lovely feature wall with matching curtains and fresh clean linen. I am nothing but highly impressed! As ever,... More

A lovely place set in a small village. The food was excellent, both for the evening meal and breakfast All the staff were friendly, as were the locals and there were real ales! Our only gripe was that even though it clearly stated in our room that breakfast was served until 9.30 we were told 9am was the latest and... More
