We stayed here on a Saturday night last weekend. Room 12. Managed to park just outside on a pay and display. A trendy pub with rooms above. It's in a good part of Southampton with lots of restaurants and cafes in the same road. Our room was very nice and staff were helpful. This is a good venue to stay... more

The hotel was as the other reviews had said. It was very comfortable and apparantly had been upgraded the day before to a 5* and 2 Rosettes for the food. Could not fault the staff on when we arrived and the room was clean and just like the pictures. However although my husband is in the industry and told the... more

The room and the staff were v.good, as was the location. But no air-con meant that we needed the windows open and having the windows open meant that it was unacceptably noisy. We were there for the boat show in Sept.Thurs, Friday, Saturday night. Beautiful room - everything the other reviews say but you can't get past the lack of... more

We stayed one night at the White Tavern in August 2009, before our cruise departure from Southampton. The staff was kind and helpfull and the (superior) room was spacious and clean. The bed and pillow were not very comfortable, but all in all we thought it was very charming hotel. This small hotel with only 13 rooms is actually a... more

We were down in Southampton for 1 night and needed to find a good hotel. I reviewed all the usual chain hotels and the reviews I read were terrible. I then happened to spot this hotel and went onto the website to find out more. It sounded great. We booked through Laterooms.com and got a good deal of £69.00. We... more

Arrived there, had a beer in the bar (barman very friendly). Had dinner in the restaurant: Food very good, Waitress very professional & Friendly. After checking in, I asked for the time table for the trains to London but was given the wrong times what made me loose my flights (a tall guy with Glasses)! Paid £74.00 for the night... more

I chose this hotel from seeing it in a magazine and looking for small boutique hotels in the Southampton area. I am always nervous about trying new hotels as they don't always live up to expectation. I am pleased to say I was very happy with my choice. The duty manager Barry was extremely helpful, friendly and polite. Nothing was... more

We stayed at the White Star last weekend, we were looking for somewhere to stay near our son's university and this was perfect. There is no parking except for meters, not a problem, we arrived after 6pm on a Saturday so no charge! The bar/restaurant area is really nice. The room was absolutely perfect, not large, but such a comfy... more
