This Holiday inn is quite an old building however there has been a recent renovation of the public areas. The Reception staff found us great rooms with good views over the port. The room we had was very spacious and we were able to have guests visit us to chat and have coffee while enjoying the view. The hotel has... more

This hotel is convenient to the cruise ship terminal, but that, and its restaurant, are the only good things to say about it. Our room was filthy, the bathroom was worse, and the plumbling was in need of repair. If you are a cruise ship passenger, you can do much better elsewhere. more

We recently stayed one night here on a mid week break and thought it was a great hotel. The hotel is in an enviable location and check in was swift and welcoming. The room we had (1st floor) overlooked a car park/docks and had floor to ceiling windows which was lovely as the sunset was superb the night we were... more

We chose the Holiday Inn as our overnight before leaving for a cruise to the Mediterranean from Southampton. We flew to Heathrow and took the National Express coach to Southampton. Very easy walk to the Holiday Inn from the bus station. The hotel's location was the best we could have picked, as we could also easily walk to the ship... more

We stayed here before our cruise and would definitely stay again for that purpose. We flew into Heathrow and came down on the National Express bus and then walked to the hotel from the bus station. Even with our luggage this wasn't too bad but we were lucky with sunny blue skies that day. It's very close to a nice... more

A friend and I stayed at this hotel from 1 through 6 April 2009. The hotel is well-located near Southampton's docks. It was a pleasant surprise one morning to throw open my curtains to find the cruise ship "Oceana" moored just several hundred feet away. Rooms on the other side of the hotel face the city and its Mayflower monument,... more

We stayed for one night on the way to Bournemouth. We had our doubts about Holiday Inns but the location was convenient, they did interconnecting rooms(we travelled with our 4 year old) and it was amazingly cheap. We payed £155 for 2 rooms and DBB for all 3 of us. On arrival we looked at the rooms before checking in... more

I liked the place because it did what it said on the label. It is, in my view, a good three star (to the upper end of 3 star) hotel. It is well situated (an easy 10 minute walk to the centre of Southampton) with plenty of free car parking. We paid £59 per night (2 nights) for an "executive... more

Hotel Staff at this hotel were brilliant, nothing was to much trouble, they were all extremely friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Food was excellent, buffet breakfast, plenty of it and hot. Evening meals good choice and well prepared. Room was massive. We had a Family Room and it was huge. We visited this hotel for... more

We stayed at the Holiday Inn prior to going on a cruise, and from location and convenience point of view it was ideal. It's also located only a short walk away from the huge central Southampton shopping mall and city centre shopping area. All the staff we met were very pleasant and friendly. We just came away feeling it was... more
