Found a deal on hotels.com that was better than HIs own and paid for parking separately at the hotel (£7 per night). Reception staff were helpful. Lifts were very slow on a busy day, we opted to struggle down the stairs with our luggage. 10 minute walk into town and would've been very handy for Gate 8 at the port... More

I am a regular user of Holiday Inn Hotels and this place met my expectations just like the rest. A comfortable clean room (high level as requested overlooking the Port), friendly staff, a reasonably priced bar and a good buffet breakfast. The only downer for me was having to pay £7 to park my car overnight. Great location for a... More

Special thanks to 'Sam' (works at front office), he's been really helpful and possess very good customer service skills. And 'Matthew' (he is the manager) is very pleasant & went out of the way to ensure that we feel comfortable. Will definitely come back and/or recommend my friends. Keep it up guys!! :))

We arrived late, owing to the lack of diversion signing on long-term M27/M271 roadworks - grrrrr (not helpful Southampton City Council; you know where you are going, your paying visitors may not). But we were immediately made welcome, upgraded and settled in. The room was clean, modern and well decorated and maintained, with splendid views across the city and a... More

Service was miserable at the restaurant where the young lady gave us attitude when we asked for our order to be taken. She actually refused to look at us and when we went to her she said that she was busy. Yet we were the only ones there! The management was no help either. So we got up, went across... More

We stayed 2 nights as it was close to the cruise terminals. Most reception staff was good, there was a young man who came across very rude as he insisted we had not paid. I had to point out to him the voucher said it had been paid, no apology. The other 2 reception staff were very helpful in booking... More

The staff were attentive and polite however: The food in the restaurant was one of the worst I have eaten in a hotel (and I have stayed in a few over the years), and expensive for what you get! I had: a Insipid limp prawn cocktail, followed by an uninspired Hunters Chicken: Small portion size, poor presentation, and tasteless! I... More

Myself and my partner stayed here for two nights over a weekend. We were a bit surprised at first to discover it was almost in the middle of nowhere. Which, if you don't drive, is true. However, we had the car and realised that, in order to get out and discover what southampton had to offer: the town and the... More

The Holiday Inn is well located for the cruise terminals, West Quay shopping centre and city centre. There is parking at the hotel, this is not free (most of the hotels in Southampton do charge), although the daily cost of £7 is slightly higher than others. The receptionist Laura was very friendly, although her badge said that she was training... More

We arrived after 4.5 hours of travelling in horrendous traffic- the reception staff could not have been kinder or more helpful- gave us a superb room overlooking gate 101 which was exactly what we wanted. It was quiet, clean and beautifully positioned to watch Eclipse berth at 5.30 the next morning and joy of joys the hotel was in easy... More
