Rooms: Bit on the small side, tired looking and needs some work. Service/Staff: Very friendly, courteous and helpful. Location: Not bad, especialy if you intend to drive to the main cycle/foot paths. Value: Not much! We were on a special deal that included a 2-course dinner. However, pretty much anything that was worth having on the menu had a supplementary... more

We have just returned from a 2 night early Easter break from this hotel on the edge of the New Forest. Approached via a long drive, the hotel is set in its own grounds. Our family room was located in the extension built in 1996. It was clean but adequately decorated. Whilst large it was an unusual shape with a... more

Stayed with my toddler and my mum for 2 nights. Room was small but very clean and cleaned daily and tea and coffee facilities were stocked up. Breakfast and dinner were excellent and staff attentive and professional. My daughter was made to feel very welcome and when we asked for a highchair to be provided after the first night for... more

Location rural but very convenient for access from motorway and for my next destination (Ordnance Survey). Building a bit tired, but has character. Room small but adequate (for my single night requirement). Pillows rather hard. Good to have swimming pool, but too small to get any exercise. Dinner choice interesting, tasty and well presented. Cost of internet access is exorbitant.... more

We have just come back from a long weekend in the New Forest, 2 nights of which were spent at Bartley Lodge Hotel. We had booked (admittedly at the last minute) for a 2-night, dinner, bed and breakfast break at a total of £320. The hotel did look impressive on arrival but that was where the feel-good factor ended. Our... more

Wow - we were looking for a quick one night stay at the very last minute!! - what we didn't expect was to find a little "Gem" As a family of four we found the hotel to be friendly and very accommodating. If you read some of the reviews on these sites people have commented unkindly about the rooms !... more

The hotel is a grade 2 listed building approached by a long drive through a forest, and it would seem to suggest an idyllic location. On entering the hotel I was greeted in a welcoming manner, but it was fairly obvious that the decor of the public areas of the hotel are very tired and in need of refurbishment. The... more

We have just returned from staying at the Hotel; fortunately, for us only 2 nights - whilst leaving elderly parents there for the week! We advised not to stay at this hotel, however, as parents had already booked; mainly due to its location, being close to Totton, we had no choice! We would definitely not stay at this hotel again!!!... more

Terrible experience. Arrived on Friday evening, car park filthy. Room so small that it was difficult to walk aroung the bed. I have stayed in a caravan with larger bedrooms. Sound proofing non existent felt next door was in our room.Couldn't face staying there for 2 nights so left and came home!. Did get a full refund. more
