At £100 for a nights B&B we were expecting a lot more than a small dark room with ancient decor. The internet pictures definately did not reflect reality. The whole place was tired and in need of redecoration. On the plus side the property was in a lovely location, across the road from the new forest. The breakfast was ample,... more
I can not believe the last review . I have been staying at knightwood lodge for the past 5years every month on work related matters do you think i would do that if the place was as bad as the last review makes out.I must have stayed in every room in the hotel over the years. All the other regular visitors... more
we stayed at the Knightwood lodge hotel last march 2005 for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay very much, our daughter loved the pool as it was only us using it, the only thing that put me off the 1st time was just the fact that the changing area for the pool was freezing no warmth at all. there is... more
The place was awful. My family and I stayed their for a weekend to see a couple of family members. We went on a search engine and clicked on knightwood lodge. it seemed lovely and the pictures of the hotel did look very good. When it came to arriving at the hotel (if that is what you would like to... more
I can't understand what the others reviewers expected! Its good value for 1 star accomodation. The pool & spa was a great extra & perfect after a long walk. Service was friendly & the room was warm with all plumbing in good order. The road is noisy but if you book accomodation on a main road what do you expect.... more
Friendly staff the only good point. Agree about the cleverly angled photograph, road noise was awful. The Southampton Road is the New Forest M1. Shower unusable, rooms very dated. The indoor leisure centre consisted of some equipment in a conservatory, steam room and spa U/S,pool cold.Smoking allowed in all rooms so no chance of a non smoking room.I wouldn't recommend it. more
stayed at this hotel this weekend. photo on the website shows a hotel in the forest. but cleverly the photo is taken at such an angle that you cant tell that it is on a major road. Rooms were cold, decor was shabby, and the beds had mattresses with springs that protuded out which gave both of us back pain... more
Stayed at this hotel last weekend in October. Found it a friendly place and liked the pool and sauna. Staff very helpful, especially the receptionist with the red hair! Dinner was excellent for a small hotel - will def. be going back. more
Spent a weekend at this hotel using it as a base to visit the New Forest and the Festival of the Sea in Portsmouth. Unfortunately the hotel was disappointing and if we had been staying longer than the couple of nights available to us I would probably have relocated elsewhere. Apart from the fact that it has a (small) bar... more
