This campsite is really good. Great location close to the train station and a couple of local pubs and restaurants. Some areas of the campsite are really close to the traintracks and can be noisy but if that bothers you you can pick another area of the site. The toilets and showers are really clean and the water is hot.... More

This campsite was great - quiet, full of New Forest ponies and close to the train station and local amenities. Pretty near the main road but couldn't really hear it. Great facilities, spotless toilet blocks and lovely staff. Only problem with this village is there isn't much there compared to Brockenhurst or Lyndhurst and if, like us, you are on... More

we stayed here for 3 nights and loved it, i would advise not to pitch near the train line due to train noise. the staff were very friendly and the shower/toilets were very clean, you can hire bikes to be delivered to the site. we are going back next month (sept) as that's when the farmers release their pigs into... Lovely location but awful facilities. Must have been 1250 people on the campsite and there were only 12 showers which got very dirty by the end of the morning (after having to queue for 35 minutes for!) good location but wouldn't visit again because of this

Quick and Friendly check in, Staff ensure site is always tidy, facilities were always clean and tidy, only trouble was the noise from the nearby railway, main road and the flight path into Southampton at night, but if you are not a light sleeper and can pitch your tent away from the railway, you can survive. Kids loved the location,... More

We stayed at Ashurst Campsite for two nights in early August and were most impressed with our stay. The site is clean, quiet and well run, with good facilities. We found the staff helpful and polite at all times. We loved the fact that you can choose your own pitch, we had one facing directly into the forest which was fantastic... More

We stayed here in early July and was very impressed with the site and the facilities. The staff were very friendly and polite. There are a few rules you are asked to follow but when you consider the site can hold 240 pitches you need rules to stop people infringing on others enjoyment of the site (noise levels did rise... Friendly staff, always willing to answer any questions about the area and activities/restaurants available. Quite strict policies with regard to on site behavior - no pitching tents after dusk, noise levels etc.... though this didn't bother us as a couple on our own. Its a very picturesque site and all the facilities are very clean and well stocked with loo... More

We stayed here for four nights from 24th to 28th July 2011. The site, facilities and staff are first class, i have been camping before and have never had such excellent, clean toilet facilities. I do not normally write a review, but would advise people that the train line is a problem if u want a peaceful night sleep. They... More

I think that as long as you are happy to accept that this is a popular site and is likely to be busy and not that quiet then you'll enjoy it. We found the staff to be exceptionally friendly (like the horses) and the facilities to be warm and very clean. Make sure you book in advance on summer weekends... More
