I am quite emotionally attached to another campsite within the New Forest and go there a lot however when I went to book it recently, it was closed for the season. The helpful chap on the phone from www.campingintheforest.co.uk recommended I go to Holmsley as it was much the same regarding what it offers. I was dubious however booked it... More

Over the August bank holiday a group of 15 of us (aged 21-23) came to stay at this campsite for two nights. We were slightly concerned about finding a plot big enough, as we were told the three pitches we booked aren't necessarily together so it was a bit of a free for all when finding a plot. We did... Spent 2 nights here the first weekend in October. Don't be put off by the poor reviews. We turned up expecting the worst but we're plesently suprised. We turned up late, around 7.30pm when It was dark. There was no one on reception so after reading the late arrivals board we headed on in and pitched our tent. Being the... More

We arrived in our campervan to what looked like a very plesant site, the staff were friendly. We had a premium pitch which is when things went down hill. It was on the edge of an old concrete strip and felt like we were parked in a lay-by. The showers and toilets were covered in dirt and grass and not... More

Stay Away, After visiting what should be an idyllic site, set on a historic airfield in the heart of the New Forest, with fantastic facilities, including free showers, an on site shop and take away, and the only "Camping in the forest" site with electric hook ups provided, we are left wondering what went wrong after suffering our very own... What a gem of a site. Right in the heart of the New Forest, this site is in a perfect location for walking and cycling. 10 minutes drive from the town of Christchurch with the usual shops and wonderful river with hire boats. The site itself is very well kept, especially bearing in mind we visited over the week before... More

A lovely campsite to explore the beaches of Bournemouth and the sites of the New Forest. I'd recommend the New Forest Bus Tour - amazing day out. Good toilets and showers and excellent shop. Really relaxed atmosphere and friendly site.

Booked to stay here for two nights this week. The staff were friendly and very helpful specifying exactly where we could and couldn't pitch our tent, letting us know that the "takeaway" was available in the evening with different food each evening and a breakfast available in the mornings. While we were decided where to pitch a very helpful member... More

We spent a lovely bank holiday weekend here. The site was excellent, first grade ablution blocks, great places to pitch a tent, and a shop with almost everything. This campsite is very civilised, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It is made better by the fence and cattle grid, which keep the numerous horses and ponies out of the... More
