Staff - friendly and helpful Meal - Expensive as the portions were relatively small! Breakfast - This was included in the room price so was amazed at the standard - so much choice! Croissants, full english, toast, 6 cereals, juices, fruit, yoghurt and more.... 6 piece full english was impressive, meat was superb quality and all hot with plenty available.... more

I stayed at the Marwell Hotel in October 2008 as I was attending a conference at the hotel. The hotel enjoys a fantastic location, right next to the zoo, and is surrounded by woodland, giving a real "away from it all" feel. Initial thoughts were positive. The check-in process was quick and easy and the reception area very stylish. Unfortunately,... more

We stayed at the marwell Hotel, to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. We wanted it to be perfect. It was. The room was very comfortable, and decorated with an african flavour. A huge king size bed and outside set in a woodland surroundings. We had dinner in the Hotel restaurant, (Zav vana) and the meal and service were faultless and... more

We have just got back from a 2 night stay ay The Marwell. This place doesn't know if it's coming or going! There is no visible management and the standards are pretty poor. Our room was adequate but not worth the £99 a night we paid for it. £50 would have been pushing it. The carpet was tatty, the pillows... more

I have stayed in the Marwell Hotel for the past 3 years running, always at the start of May. Each time our visit has coincided with a wedding function and this seems to cause resource problems at the hotel. At £149 for a family of 4 the rate is attractive and the situation of the hotel, directly next to Marwell... more

This hotel is of a very good standard for a three star hotel. The rooms are clean tidy with nice beds and bedding. The bathrooms, although rather small are smart and clean. What lets the hotel down is the standard of the food which is hit or miss.. I asked for some new potatoes with my evening meal and was... more

We booked the 2 night zoofari break which was £269 for 2 nights dinner b & b. I travelled with my husband and 2 kids. Overall, we had a lovely time. The room was more than adequate with double bed, bunk beds and patio doors with balcony to wooded area. Bathroom was also above standard. Breakfast was fantastic with plenty... more

My wife and I enjoyed a Zoofari break with our sons aged 12 and 14. The deal was great value for a one night stay with dinner, B&B and Zoo entrance for £150 for the four of us Food was fine, service was friendly, and the Africa theme added to our enjoyment as a family. We all loved the zoo... more

We stayed at the hotel last weekend as an end of holiday last minute treat for the kids and were pleasantly suprised. The rooms are a little shabby and the bathrooms need updating but the beds, towels and linen were excellent for a 3* hotel. The rate for two rooms was far far cheaper than any other hotel I had... more

Excellent service. Peaceful quiet location. Nice pool, sauna and hot tub which was never to busy. All staff extremely professional and polite. Food in restaurant was delicious although it was quite expensive. Would recommend eating from the bar menu which is good but a bit cheaper. Room was big and finished to a high standard. I loved the way the... more
