My husband and I stayed at the Novotel -Southampton for 2 nights prior to leaving for a cruise. The only upside to staying at this "hotel" was the location which was a) close proximity - about a 5 minute walk or less - to the train station b) within a 5 minute cab ride to where the cruise ship docks.... more

OK. Reception area and restaurant very well done and the staff friendly and helpful. the location is convenient being opposite the station, close to the shops and the ships but nothing special as an hotel. For what was paid it represented very poor value for money but if you can get it at a reasonable price it would be acceptable.... more

We were in room 105. The room was large, had the bonus of a comfortable settee, ironing board and iron, limited mini bar, beverage tray, safe and hairdryer. Easy check in. Refurbishment team working on our floor. Our room still old-style, dingy, and in need of makeover. Squeaky door hinges, stained cushions, much fluff, stained net curtains. This hotel is very very good for an over night stay before departing on a cruise. The Hotel is very clean and modern. Also you have a free car park right across from the hotel if you need it.
