Very good value if you're looking for an en suite room near Southampton. In fact this hotel probably comes into its own if you're staying for a while - there's a kitchen for guests with a microwave and hot drinks machine (although unfortunately this was out of order when I was there; they were making hot drinks at reception although obviously you couldn't get them when reception was closed). No laundry service, though.

Do bear in mind that it isn't in central Southampton - it's in Totton (in the greater Southampton area), about 5 mins by train into Southampton Central station. If you arrive by train from Southampton, the hotel is on the same side of the railway tracks that you get out of the train on (if you ask passers-by directions to 'High Street' they may actually direct you to a different street on the other side of the railway line).
