This hotel is in a great location, situated in a lovely old building and it benefits from a great Toby Carvery pub being right next door. First, the plus points. The room was large, comfortable, and had a great size bathroom. A fan was happily loaned to us from reception which was just 2 steps away as we were on... More

Stayed one night prior to a holiday on Isle of Wight. The accommodation is very basic and the decor is tired. The en-suite plumbing was awful - the hot tap gave out no more than a dribble, the shower wasn't much better, and the basin plug was broken. There was even a 3 pin ROUND plug socket in one corner... We stayed at this Travelodge 25-27/04/2012 and found the place basic but very clean. It is not a four star hotel but then it does not charge four star prices either. The girl at the reception was very friendly and helpful in providing info on how to get about. There is a bus stop right outside the property with a... More

My friend and i booked a night here in March as we couldnt get into the Holiday Inn. We only paid £23.50 each per room as we booked well in advance. Our purpose of the visit was shopping at Gun Wharf Quays and this Travelodge was only a short drive to it. The hotel was very basic but as we... More

My friend and I stated for two nights in a twin room. The duty manager was very friendly and very efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately the room was tired and dull. The curtain was hanging off the curtain rail. Beds were very hard and moved around the room as you turned over in bed. Decor was uninspiring. Loved... More

Amazed at variety of comments. Forget the spelling mistakes, no one's perfect. We hv stayed here 3 times now to await early ferry to France. Very comfy beds and v.clean room/bathroom, cannot fault it. The carvery next door is perfect for an inexpensive dinner and a pint b4r a sound nights sleep, staff very good, cannot find fault. Price exceptional... More

Stayed here in last month, and myself and my family had a great time, very busy location, a great central base for a visit to Portsmouth, train station near by and plenty of buses, we drove though, and car parking was great and very convenient. We found the staff here very polite and efficient, our room was lovely and clean,... More

Finally found it - Copnor Road is very long - a number would help for sat nav. Member of staff on duty welcoming and helpful when I asked for an additional pillow (2 each as standard in double room would be nice). Shower pressure awful, needs sorting out and a shelf would be nice for toilet bag! Location was good,... More

We stopped before sailing to France. The staff were hlpful, the room was fine and we had a free session of wifi. We ate next door at a carvery. This hotel is in a busy location but was fine. My only disappointment was we bought a breakfast pack which could only be described as average. We are likely to stay... More

A visit to grandson at uni. and a revisit to the city after 30 years. We found the accommodation very acceptable. The building had character and any "tiredness" was more than made up by the very helpful and friendly receptionist. Car parking good. Quite at night.
