Our stay was a disappointment from start to finish. On arrival at 4 pm the reception desk was not manned. A call button was provided but the member of staff did not appear for more than 15 minutes. The room was spacious but very stuffy. Like all first floor rooms it was in the roof and was uncomfortably hot even... More

We had a family room, with a double and 2 singles. It was tidy and relatively clean. A bit dusty on the floor around the bed. The tea and coffee facilities were good and on asking we were given a hair dryer. The bathroom needs updating and the shower was rubbish. But the children loved it. We went to the... More

We arrived 5.30 pm with out small dog the room was very clean tea making facilities and a table at hotel entrance with tea coffee milk to take whatever you required without having to ask at reception ,which has been the usual at other travel lodges,. The young manager on front of house was most helpful and very cheerfully We... More

Don't stay here in hot weather (no aircon, and since the upper floor in the roof, it gets very warm like an attic, even if cool outside), or if you like having a decent, quality, healthy breakfast (no restaurant at all - and they offer breakfast boxes full of poor quality, unhealthy garbage food - don't bother!)

The room was very clean, the staff efficient and friendly. Will definitely be staying here again. The hotel was easy to find using SatNav. We ate breakfast at the Toby Carvery next door, this was all you can eat for £3.99 however, just be aware, drinks are extra! All in all a very enjoyable stay.

I was booked to stay in the Travelodge Portsmouth which was my usual hotel when travelling to or from France. However the hotel rang me and said they had had a flooding problem and they had booked me in to the Travelodge Hotel Hilsea which was close by. I was a foot passenger so I asked if they would arrange... More

My family (2 adults + 2 children: 5 & 8 years-old) found easily this travelodge at 10pm from the ferry using the sat nav. We stayed only ne night but the staff was friendly and the room very clean. A supermarket was close-by.

Expensive but I expected it to be fresh and reliable, but the room was hot and dowdy. Wonderful staff sorted out a fan and unlocked the window. Breakfast options at Toby (associated restaurant) were far too limited - full cooked or nothing. I don't eat a muffin out of a box for £93! I had to drive off to find... More

This was a lovely Travelodge, could not be closer to Portsmouth Docks for the ferry. It has a lovely look about it,looks more like a country cottage, very clean, and staff very friendly and helpful, and no rushing to leave,as with Hotels you have to be out by 10am.We didn't have to leave until 12 noon. All in all excellent, will stay there again.

Would you see a rip in a sheet and make a bed up with it anyway? someone did here. Loo struggled to flush. Smokers gassing outside the window, low water pressure, no circulating air, no aircon, tatty.
