I booked this hotel as I was taking part in the Great South Run. The booking went without a hitch and I also asked if i could have a last check out. The reservation staff rang me the week before to confirm a check out time although they very very reluctantly agreed on 3pm, saying most people were having a... more

Booked a 7 day advance through Priority Club for £74 room only. The room was tiny with two single beds and the bathroom was claustrophobic. Room more geared to single occupancy for the business traveller and not a weekending couple. No wifi which the group need to address so take your dongle. No tea bags but couldn't be bothered to... more

I cannot believe that any senior person from the IHG has stayed here otherwise they would have ditched it from the brand. The bedrooms are tired and shabby - those they call 'executive' are nothing of the sort. And the service is lamentable. Never have I encountered such ineffective and unwelcoming customer service - with the exception of one bar... more

checked in 28 Sept. Lobby area looks very nice and the receptionist was friendly, efficient and helpful but it was all down hill from there. Up to room which was fairly average, but no complaints until I went into bathroom. Sink area was dirty like tea or coffee had been spilled round sink and not wiped off and the bath... more

I wouldn't return and was surprised to pay £420 for 3 nights for the level of service provided. When we arrived our fridge didn't work and after repeated attempts to get it fixed it had to go all the way to the duty manager to get anything done. On arrival we asked some simple questions like what can we do... more

I have stayed at the Holiday inn Portsmouth on several occasions and normally find it efficient, if predicatable. The restaurant staff were excellent providing the food available in many Holiday Inns. For the meeting in the business the staff again were excellent with regular supplies of tea, coffee and refreshments. The reception staff whilst very professional, were unable to tie-up... more

This hotel is a rip off. I've stayed in better travel lodges. Couldn't turn the shower off that dribbled all night. Very expensive for tired old hotel. Reception, bar and dinning room painted in battleship grey to match the boats in the naval dockyard I assume. Breakfast £14. Go elswhere or be diasappointed. more

stayed for two nights with some friends. Rooms are fairly basic. The restaraunt food is excellant well worth the £20 for a 3 course meal! Walking distance to both shopping centers. I cant praise the staff enough they were always very helpful and always did that little extra which made the stay exceptional. Ideal place for shopaholics The Gunwharf outlet... more
