As budget hotels go, Travelodge's always seem to be the best. The room was clean and tidy, reception staff friendly and there is free parking onsite. The shower in our room was a bit temperamental but having stayed there for only one night, it wasn't a problem really. The location isn't that great, it's a 40 minute walk to Gunwharf... more

Tired, grubby, shabby, failing to meet the most modest expectations one has of the Travelodge experience. Blandness and conformity are totally acceptable norms when staying at any Travelodge - to a great extent it is this familiarity that is the brands selling point - but along with this, in my own experience, Travelodge’s have previously offered reliably clean and well... more

I've been using this hotel for the last 8 years and it is sad to see how much it has declined. It's in a great position if you are using the ferry to France, has fee parking, but that is about all that can be said in it's favour. The first room I was given, the shower didn't work, so... more

We stayed here for one night in December and considering we only paid £29.00 for a double room we can't complain. The room was clean the bedding was clean and the check in staff were very pleasant. I would recommend this Travelodge it was excellent value. more

We decided to stay at Travelodge Portsmouth because of its really close location to the Portsmouth Ferry Terminal. However, we'd have happily slept in the car for the night that we spent there. Usually on TripAdvisor, if like me, you will read a review and think "Crikey, it can't be that bed!" Trust me. This was awful. Just look at... more

We chose this hotel as we managed to get the saver price rooms for 3 nights so saved a lot of money compared to other hotels nearby even the full price rate is still chepaer than most. Hotel was easy to find, has a good restaurant underneath and is only a short walk to the main town - a bit... more

had booked in here after returing with the family from France. The first family room was dirty and smelly. The bed seteee where the kids were meant to sleep was torn and dirty. Mattress was also very stained as was the mattress on the main bed. Bathroom dirty, black mould everywhere, tap broken and shower curtain rail very rusty. Hair... more

We stayed here for one night to catch a ferry to Cherbourg. This is a truly awful hotel. We got there at about 2:30pm, were refused access to our room until 3 and were told that we could NOT leave our bags there while we went into the adjoining bar to wait. Accordingly, we schlepped our luggage into the bar,... more
