We stayed overnight at this hotel as we had an event to attend the following morning in Portsmouth, so choice was convenience rather than anything else. On arrival the huge car park was jammed packed and loud music playing. We had a friendly greeting from the receptionist who informed us there were two weddings and another event going on. Slightly... I booked this hotel in order to travel by ferry the next morning to France. It was the cheapest available from a long list ranging from £65 (what I paid) to upward of £200. Not exactly ideally placed for the ferry port as it was a £10 taxi ride but I have to say it is a pleasant experience to... More

The hotel didn't look too bad when booking on Laterooms and we wanted a cheap place to stay whilst visiting the sights which Portsmouth has to offer. Upon arrival the hotel the receptionist was efficient and booked us in quickly, we then went to the room and found that the windows didn't close properly which meant there was a draft... More

Oh my gosh what a very bad hotel. Of all the hotels ive stayed in the uk, this has got to be the worst. We arrived on Thursday 25th September around 14:50 pm, hotel didn't look to bad. Got directions to our room and was told breakfast was 6:30 - 10. So went to the room & it was a... More

Walking to the hotel entrance I noticed block gutters with more than a years growth of grass and vegetation, not a good start. However a really friendly receptionist greeted me and the room was large but that's where the good points end. It just reminded me of the old Post House offering no personality, everything average. The Hungry Horse alongside... More

Attended a wedding reception on Saturday with a disco till midnight and, given the reviews, it was with some trepidation that we booked an overnight stay at £65 including breakfast. In order to change knowing we had a 2.5 hour drive for the wedding we asked for early access to the room and were told they would do their best.... More

Just stayed thank goodness for one night !! This hotel needs a major revamp, everywhere extremely tired, cleanliness awful, rooms so basic with stained carpets, peeling wallpaper, windows filthy. Part of the fire door outside our room was kicked in with gaping holes. One positive comment breakfast staff gave us a friendly welcome .

We stayed at this hotel for a few days and were overwhelmed with several very big spiders. Also the room although large was in need of updating. The bathroom door was rotten with damp the shower leaked and the sink taps were dirty. The bed dipped in the middle so an uncomfortable night sleep .This is by far the worse... More

I endured a night at this hotel which is dilapidated and very dirty.Staff couldn't give a fig. The hallways at noisy and creek with every step. The bathroom smelt damp and was dirty. Toilet only worked on the third flush. I would strongly advise management to pull it down and start again.

The room has seen better days to say the least. Peeling wallpaper, dirty and badly spotted carpet chairs possibly never seen a brush. The fittings in the bathroom show evidence of their age to say the least. The wood work in the corridors creaks and corridor fire doors shut noisily. Breakfast OK but insufficient choice on the "continental"
