I booked two rooms at this hotel for one night on 16th August 2014. Both rooms were adequate but in need of decoration (peeling wallpaper) and both smelt of smoke, despite the fact they were meant to be non-smoking rooms. Both rooms were clean. The hotel reception staff were not very welcoming and not particularly helpful. The hotel was hosting... More

We booked two rooms for a 1 night stay. Both rooms had big problems with the bathroom floors. The floorboards were wet and had rotted. Basically the Vinyl flooring felt it was all that was stopped us falling through. Complimentary toiletries included just shower gel only, not shampoo. Our room was in desperate need of decorating with wallpaper hanging off.... More

We stayed for 1 night, the room was large with a seating area but in need of a lick of paint. There was a wedding going on but we couldn't hear it once in the room. Handy for Portsmouth and the pub over the road was grand

We wernt expecting too much but was good, we had 'executive' room which just added a sofa & table in an extra lounge area with the tv, was nice to have somewhere to sit other than on the bed as there for 3 nights. If it had had a small fridge it would have been ideal. Bathroom floor was kind... More

Stayed here for one night before an onward journey, and can only echo the reviews previously. I can only compare this place to an old shirt you may have at home, its ok fairly comfy but its a bit tired and tatty round the edges. Its that shirt that you don't mind slobbing in at your own place but wouldn't... More

Stayed one night with family to see sights of Portsmouth. Hotel OK, receptionist rather brusque in explaining that they did not give out fans even though the temperature was high 20's. Room spacious and clean but needs some updating especially the bathroom. Did not eat in the Hungry Horse, instead walked to the nearly Harvester for dinner and breakfast.

Stayed in this hotel last year, for an event, and it was ok so we went back there. My previous review is on here (cheap and cheerful). Obviously what I said about the convenient location and parking still applies, the rooms are still large. However, it seems like nothing much has happened between this year and last, and that includes... More

Stayed here for one night, could not have coped if it was any longer! Arrival was fine, free parking and plenty of spaces, the receptionists were friendly and efficient but that's where the positives come to an end. The room was, at best, shabby - dirty carpets, dated decor, very suspect stain in the bath and the towels had seen... More

As a Guide Dog owner it is difficult to find hotels that are as accepting, helpful & friendly as the Farmhouse Lodge Inn. The room was great but the staff made it for me, we stayed for 3 nights 4 days and every one who works there couldn't do enough for you. Everything is on one level & as long... More
