Walking to the hotel entrance I noticed block gutters with more than a years growth of grass and vegetation, not a good start. However a really friendly receptionist greeted me and the room was large but that's where the good points end. It just reminded me of the old Post House offering no personality, everything average. The Hungry Horse alongside... More

Attended a wedding reception on Saturday with a disco till midnight and, given the reviews, it was with some trepidation that we booked an overnight stay at £65 including breakfast. In order to change knowing we had a 2.5 hour drive for the wedding we asked for early access to the room and were told they would do their best.... More

Just stayed thank goodness for one night !! This hotel needs a major revamp, everywhere extremely tired, cleanliness awful, rooms so basic with stained carpets, peeling wallpaper, windows filthy. Part of the fire door outside our room was kicked in with gaping holes. One positive comment breakfast staff gave us a friendly welcome .

We stayed at this hotel for a few days and were overwhelmed with several very big spiders. Also the room although large was in need of updating. The bathroom door was rotten with damp the shower leaked and the sink taps were dirty. The bed dipped in the middle so an uncomfortable night sleep .This is by far the worse... More

I endured a night at this hotel which is dilapidated and very dirty.Staff couldn't give a fig. The hallways at noisy and creek with every step. The bathroom smelt damp and was dirty. Toilet only worked on the third flush. I would strongly advise management to pull it down and start again.

The room has seen better days to say the least. Peeling wallpaper, dirty and badly spotted carpet chairs possibly never seen a brush. The fittings in the bathroom show evidence of their age to say the least. The wood work in the corridors creaks and corridor fire doors shut noisily. Breakfast OK but insufficient choice on the "continental"

We recently stayed one night at the hotel after leaving the ferry on our way home from France. We were towing a long caravan and were really worried that, (a) we wouldn't fit in the car park and (b) it would get broken into with all our belongings on it. We needn't have worried at all the staff and other... More

Room was dirty, sheets unclean, flying insects within the room and I have been left with bite marks on my arm. The shower was covered in mould. Not to mention the structural deficiencies of the bathroom floor which only prevented someone falling in by the plastic flooring covering. I asked to move rooms to find more of the same. The... More

After reading all the terrible reviews on here I was dreading my 2 night stay. We paid £10 extra for executive room which was lovely and spacious. Ok it was dated but clean. Even got biscuits with tea making facilities :-) We asked for a quiet room and were given 117 which was extremely quiet. We had breakfast in morning... More

We were booked in for one night over the bank holiday weekend, and after reading some of the reviews on here I was bracing myself for an awful night. When we arrived there was plenty of parking, and the receptionist was very polite and helpful. So far so good! Our room was on the ground floor and was far bigger... More
