Just returned from one night stay at Saville. OMG what a utter dump! Felt like a drug den. Stains, smells & dangerous electrics plus a cold breakfast!! When we arrived the owner told us brekky is 7.30 - 9.30am and if we didn't mind arriving the later the better, so we went for breakfast at 9.20am to be told by... More

Having left for Portsmouth very last minute our choices of hotels were very limited. In retrospect we're not at all surprised to the Saville had vacancies. Stained (bodily fluid) walls, carpets, damp musty smell mixed with cigarette smoke. Building felt like a crack den. We weren't murdered and if you're on a night out and need a bed its hilarious.

got to the hotel to be told that I wasn't allowed any guests in my room at all, so my friend had to wait in the lobby whilst I got ready to go out. Upon leaving, I had to hand in my key again and was told that if I wasn't back by 2am, I wouldn't be able to get... More

Okay.... Saville, well it's not the nicest of hotels.... BUT, It's by the beach a mere 5 mins walk, Palmerston road and not far from the dock yard.... Now if you just want a roof over your head, don't care about much except for a clean bed and decent Breakfast then this is one for you.... you want luxury look... More

If you're looking for luxury comfort and modern facilities at high prices, this is not the place for you. If you're looking for a reasonable tariff and you don't mind your hotel to be a little rough around the edges, then this could be the place for you. It's clean (some reviewers are confusing "old" for "dirty"), the hotel staff... More

This place is a complete dump, it is a fire disaster waiting to happen and it is filthy! There is a fire escape outside some of the upper rooms - great I hear you say ..... shame that the windows don't open wide enough to fit anyone larger than a small child through them! The electrics in the room were... More

It was our own fault, we booked this place in a rush and with all other hotels fully booked, without reading the other reviews on this site...Big mistake! How bad could it possibly be? The building itself was once a true beauty in a great location, but it has been left to fade into a tired if not ever so... More

When my parents came to stay I wanted them to have a wonderful stay. I checked the hotel room before I booked them in. The room they showed me looked acceptable. When my parents arrived the room they were given was horrible. There were no towels, I had to go and get them and they were shredded bleached and old.... More
