Staying at the red lion whilst having business meetings in the area. Arrived late Sunday evening Shattered, staff where welcoming and room was cosy and warm. Ordered a burger and wedges, food was really nice. There was a singer on , who was great and the staff and customers where all up dancing. It was like being back in Liverpool... More

I have to say first impressions of the hotel were ok room was clean and tidy but in need of a little tlc , food in the bar was good. My main issues is I was charged twice for my room and even after a number of phone calls and proof of the double charge coming out of my account... More

Booked in at short notice so we could visit my mother in hospital nearby. Staff were extremely helpful and flexible. Room was a bit crowded when we added a campbed for my adult daughter compared to what we're used to in Australia but everything was clean and comfortable. Staff were really helpful and deserve a medal in my view.

A nice pub/hotel. Decent, clean rooms (nicely heated too which often isn't the case with many hotels now). Very convenient for the ferry port, only about 10-15 minutes drive. Our room was small with the double bed against one wall but, otherwise, god value for a city location. Bar food was good and the staff were very helpful.

I booked 2 rooms at this hotel for myself, my young daughter and my parents, whilst visiting my son at the university, thinking it was reasonably priced and simply expecting a clean, comfortable bedroom for a good sleep. It was all going so well, however.... It's now 3:30am and so far I've been awake for an hour since being woken... More

The Hotel is in desperate need of updating, tired decor, broken and poorly mended fixtures. The room itself was clean if very inconvenient with the small soft bed jammed in to the corner of the room. The bathroom was clean with a good shower, shame only two hand towels had been supplied. No free wifi, Poor ventilation with plenty of... More

Many thanks for taking time to post your review. I'm sorry your experience was not as good as you expected. Our double beds may not be ideal for the larger frame and we do intend to remedy that challenge with new beds next year. If you had required extra towels - you only need to ask - these would have...
