Ideal location to gun wharf and gosport ferry which we needed. That was the only good thing. The lift has carpeted walls?? The place stinks! The room was so basic and old, chips out of every single bit of furniture and dirty carpets, didn't want to walk barefoot on. Room was like a sauna when we got back, had the... More

We stayed in this hotel as we were in Portsmouth for a graduation ceremony and needed to be near the Guildhall. Location wise this hotel was near the Guildhall, the maritime museum, restaurants, bars and shopping. The welcome was very friendly and the reception areas of the hotel were comfortable. Our bedroom was fine in size and comfort with a... More

I paid 81 pounds a night and did not feel i got value for money! The room was very basic, spartan, the bathroom had seen better days as had the room furniture. Very few parking spaces available. it is a big place and needs a major refurbisment, the passageways are very scruffy. the good things, the staff are excellent, good... More

We recently stayed here for 2 nights after returning on a late ferry from France. We were given a lovely family room which was clean and fresh but extremely warm. The reception staff were friendly and helpful with a speedy check in. Breakfast was lovely with a good variety of food on offer. We had a bar snack and drinks... More

Location is excellent, right next to the Dockyard, railway station and ferry terminal for the Isle of Wight. Hotel is fairly basic, small rooms but clean and comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included and very good. Hotel has a self serve laundry, an indoor pool (small), a barber shop, bar and restaurant. There is free parking on... More

The lobby and check-in is very well presented, staff friendly and very helpful. We only used the lift once!! The stairs is a much better option. Breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold food, thoroughly enjoyed it! The rooms are very dated but clean with paint worn or peeling off window sill and furniture surfaces. The bathrooms especially,they... More

Have never stayed here so can't comment on the rooms, but have attended a fuction! The room was set out beautifuly slightly lacking in room around the tables and as the food was silver served the staff must of been having a time of it getting between the chairs, but they were all extremely friendly and served us professionally. The... More

Hotel it self was dated, the less said about the letter box sizes lift the better, quicker and easier to use the stairs. Looks as if the rooms had not long been renovated and were comfortable, breakfast was good, but none of us took a liking to the evening meal menu. We eat in the Quay with the normal modern type... After completing the awful review about another Portsmouth hotel, It was only right that we advise people of the lovely stay we experienced at the Royal Maritime Club. After being put out onto the street, after a couple of frantic hours searching for a hotel, two ladies in their seventies were afforded only what can be described as sympathetic &... More

Stayed here at the last minute, was in the area for work. The hotel lobby was very nice, but the rooms were a little disappointing. Very basic but not too bad for the price. Parking could be a bit tricky. Staff were very helpful and friendly. :-)
