Stayed here for one night whilst working in Portsmouth. Very unusual naval themed hotel. Hotel and room spotlessly clean. A good breakfast as well. Limited parking so you need to get their early as it's first come first served.

We stayed at this hotel for an overnight stay due to the location to the historic dockyard. We were pleasently surprised as it was only a very short walk away. Furthermore just a little further up the road was gunwharf keys which houses a lot of retail outlets, restaurants and a cinema. The hotel itself was welcoming however abit dated... More

Attended a quiz night in one of the function rooms here. A very well organised event with a "basket meal" provided by the club. I had chicken and chips. Bearing in mind they were catering for 150+ people the food was indeed hot! Delicious chips - some of the nicest I've had and a side salad that was fresh and... More

Go back in time to really appreciate this great little hotel. Exceptionally clean with a warm welcome from the staff. Great food and very comfortable. This once a navy man's club now offers a great place to relax or have a fab party or wedding. Just 5 mins from the Gunwharf Quays Premium Outlet shopping centre and the Historic Dockyards........ We stayed in a standard double room. The room was a good size, clean enough and the bathroom had a bath which was lovely. The decor was a little dated, but acceptable. Breakfast was a buffet style full English which we both really enjoyed. Absolutely satisfactory.

Highly recommended as good value for money if you are visiting the dockyard and/or doing shopping at Gunwharf Keys. Limited car parking but directly opposite a good car park always plenty of spaces and much cheaper than the main Gunwharf car parks.Three minutes from the Naval Yard and 6 mins from Gunwharf. Really good breakfast, included in price.

What a delightful, quirky, interesting, unusual place to stay! In an age when everything is replacement, reproduction, "retro" (whatever that means!), boutique or budget The Royal Maritime Club offers a genuine step back in time. A little worn here and there? Maybe. A trifle old fashioned in its service? Yes! I am delighted to say. This is the place for... More

Spent 4 nights here on a sightseeing trip. Perfect location for the Historic Dockyard, only a couple of hundred yards away. The disabled room had recently been modernised with help from Help the Heroes, so the facilities were excellent. Adjustable bed, wet room with shower wheelchair etc. Also the disabled toilet in the main hotel had recently been modernised. Good... More

The hotel we normally stay in was fully booked so we opted for here. Have to say that after reading reviews we were lucky with our room. We had a superior room in the west wing which consisted of a huge bedroom with an emperor size bed, bathroom with shower over and a bedroom with bunk beds. Wardrobe had matching... More

Stayed here for a mid week break earlier this month. Chose it because of its location and price. It is a 5 minute from Portsmouth Harbour and its train station and Gunwharf Quays and less than 5 minutes from the Historic Dockyards. Paid £56 bed and breakfast which is not bad in this day and age. I had a single... More
