I stayed here for one night with my daughter and granddaughter. The location is perfect for walking to Portsmouth harbor or to the canoe lake at Southsea. A free splash park is 5 minutes walk as is the aquarium and D day museum. The hotel is room only, but there is a wide choice of bars and restaurants nearby and... More

I stayed at the Sandringham for one night in the run-up to Christmas. The lady there was very helpful and friendly when I asked for an extra towel. My room was clean, modern and with TV and tea/ coffee. It's not a fancy place, but it is at least clean and well situated... It's also really inexpensive! Next time I... More

This is just a pathetic, stinking, lousy place masquerading as a hotel. I stayed for 7 days (as I couldn't get any accomodation elsewhere) during the month of July. The lady who is in charge (owner's wife) was never around and when she was, never bothered to listen to me. She kept claiming that the hotel was fully booked and... More

I booked a single room for 2 nights for £25 per night room only. I was pleasantly surprised with the room for the cost . The room was perfect for me spotlessly clean and a bonus was the sea view !! The lady in charge was very friendly and nothing was to much trouble when I asked for an extra... More

Good location with good sized rooms and they are reasonably priced but that's where the good stuff ends. No parking, rude staff, towels changed once a week, no hot water most evenings, you get the drift. There's a couple of positive reviews for this hotel but if you take a closer look these they are written by people who have... More

Good location and close to the sea. Apart from that depressing, rude phillipine lady at the reception, shouted at us when we approached the reception after ten pm at night as she was sleeping, but there was no sign to say it closes at ten pm. dull place. We arrived and there were several problems with the apartment already and... More

LONG ONE - but please read in order to avoid frustration: As most of us my family decided to go away on a short notice and have chosen a SANDRINGHAM CASTLE HOTEL in southsea. Online booking system was offering a £10 off the price but is deliberately not working for the last 3 years (I've been here in 2009). Family... More

"Beggars can't be choosers". Faced with having to find overnight accommodation in Southsea (a place with which we were unfamiliar) at short notice, our choice was limited. Nevertheless at £49 for a double room (excluding breakfast) this place wasn't exactly cheap. I suppose we did get a (clean)bed for the night, but that's about it. Main gripes included: 1. No... More
