good location and charming from the outside. Absolutely dreadful food and dismal but adequate accommodation! Stayed there with friends on the Cotswold way walk. Had dinner there - ordered broccoli and stilton soup which arrived a beige colour and with a thick skin on top drizzled with dried herbs. Would NOT stay there again. One nice thing was the guy... Dear Guest, we apologised and acknowledged an issue with the soup, which I personally raised with the chef (at the time) and you were refunded for this. You ate your other meals without any complaints and were asked if everything was to your expectations. Both myself and the chef had spent some time talking to you and you said you... More

Popped into the Swan yesterday for lunch whilst bumbling around the area. We had looked it up online previously and noticed a great deal on the "senior citizens menu" which we thought we would try at some time. The menu is not on display with their others, why not? The rump steak for two people with two glasses of wine... More

Went to the Swan for lunch with my mum. Wine was excellent, food was very good and staff were friendly. Sat by the log burner on comfortable chairs, will definitely go back, a very relaxing experience!

Our therapist group have met at The Swan for business lunches for several months. It is not ideal, but the service and menu had been improving, so we were all looking forward to a pre Christmas afternoon tea and cake together there. We booked ahead for cosy table by the fire and know that the chef makes good cake. When we... More

… describes The Swan, the only hotel in this small Cotswold town. It is not professionally managed, though anything that needs attention gets it promptly and with a smile. The layout is higgledy piggly as a result of converting adjacent historical buildings and the floors are uneven with many squeaking boards and small steps to catch the unwary. Ask for... More

Found ourselves passing through Wotton-Under-Edge whilst looking for a cash-point! Saw the Swan Hotel and ended up staying the evening. The warmest and most genuine of welcomes led us to stay and eat. The food was cooked and presented with care and style without being pretentious. The furnishing has a wonderful mix of authentic old wood and modern style and... More

My wife and I stayed for two nights. Old, slightly eccentric building, clean, well provided. All staff were friendly, helpful, courteous. We only ate breakfast but in the wide choice that was available, every element was excellently prepared. It is clear that this hotel has been turned around in the recent past. We would be very happy to stay again.... More

Myself and sister stayed one night B and B at the Swan Hotel on the 19th of October whilst walking in the area, we were very pleased with the standard of accommodation, it was very clean and the beds comfortable, O.k the taps in the bathroom were labeled oddly, (two said hot) and there was a little bit of low... I was booked into the Swan Hotel for one night during my hike of the Cotswold Way. The best attributes about this hotel are its location (in the town centre) and its character (a former coaching house with beamed ceilings and other original features). My room was very simple, and the in-room amenities provided were minimal. The breakfast the following... More

Lovely room, four poster bed. Old-y world which is rare these days. Really enjoyed our stay. Went down for dinner in the pub which was lovely. Only thing is the interconnecting door to the next room wasn't very sound proof but didn't matter to us as the occupants there were not loud.
