We have just returned from a super overnight stay at the white hart. The room was clean and comfortable with an abundance of hot water. We had a pre meal drink in the bar which was full of old world charm and used by locals who obviously enjoyed the ambiance of the bar. Dogs were obviously made welcome and one... More

stayed in Feb 2014 and it was great. We were on a Travelzoo offer but the deals on their own website seem just as good. 8 en-suite bedrooms & rambler accommodation with shared facilities. Big car park, rooms very clean & with baths (hooray) and showers, hairdryers & tea/coffee making. Dog friendly throughout (Tosca even got her own sausage for... More

Ate here recently and have to say the food was excellent. The sausage board for a shared starter is a must which is a selection of different sausages with two differing pickles. If I was rating just the food then it would be 5*. Shame the service let it down though. The booking was messed up and employing inexperienced staff... More

Bought a £79 Travelzoo voucher and managed to get a room upgrade. The room looked out on main street at the front and had a side window looking on to a roof this had been screened and had planters wow people who actually take notice. Been in many Hotels and some Hospitals too with poor views of walls, air conditioning... More

My wife and i were staying in Winchcombe for a week and decided to pop in about 6.45pm for a drink as the place looked rustic and rural which we like, well when we went in we thought we had been transported back to the 80s where we met in a wine bar all those years ago, dont get me... More

Our trip was booked as a deal that included B&B, Dinner and wine tasting. overall very good value for money. The place had a lot of character, a little tired in places, but the welcome pack advises they are refurbishing. Good Happy 2 Hours deal on drinks, food was excellent. Whilst the £5 surcharge for Beef Wellington seemed a little... More

Took advantage of an extremely good value Travelzoo promotion for an overnight stay. The attractive building is very old with a great deal of character and an abundance of flagstone and wooden floors. A bit incongruous, though, to see black and yellow tape on the floor and steps in the bar/reception/dining room area. Looks like Health & Safety requirements have... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent experience. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay, but I was a little surprised that you mentioned the lack of wine tasting. As I sat you down I offered you to come through to the wine shop for a tasting but you declined as you were happy with the beer. Maybe... More

We stopped at the White Hart on a Travelzoo deal. This is an old and quirky pub with rooms. We had a surprisingly quiet night as our room, room 5, was in the front on the main road through Winchcombe. The bed was comfortable and the linen fresh and clean. However there is no getting away from the fact that... More

Popped in after a walk up Belas Knap with a dog in the rain. When we returned to Winchcomb it was brilliant to find a haven from the wet and wind in the form of delicious food, friendly service and a warm, welcoming fire! Highly recommended and will return.

The White Hart is beautifully rustic. All staff very helpful and friendly. Our room and beds were very comfortable and everywhere was really clean. The bathroom had an excellent shower and wonderfully warming towel rail. The restaurant and bar staff couldn't have done more to please us, even giving me a sample of wine to try. Our evening meal was... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Eat, drink and flop in historic Winchcombe. To some it's a pub, others a hotel. Situated at the heart of the village of Winchcombe near Cheltenham, this ‘restaurant with rooms’ (there are 11) offers the very best of British food and an excellent wine list. Visit the wine shop and try the famous sausages in the Wine & Sausage eating rooms. A perfect place to visit or stay if you love walking or visiting Cheltenham races. Each of the 8 en-suite rooms are individually styled and some have feature beds. In the Wine & Sausage eating rooms located on the inns ground floor they are passionate about real food, the great and simple British dishes that we grew up with. Ingredients are carefully sourced and wherever possible use local and regional farmers, growers, fishermen, producers, brewers and even winemakers. Just a few metres away from the inn you will find the scenic Cotswold Way and Gloucestershire Way footpaths. The Inn is also very popular with cyclists and can help with routes around the area, especially via one or two other 'watering holes'. There's even a hosepipe for washing down muddy bikes. Winchcombe is an idyllic base for touring the Cotswolds and the White Hart is the perfect bolt hole close to the famous sporting and cultural festival town of Cheltenham. ... more   less
