I'm confused. Why are people saying that this is a good hotel? The restaurant is superb. Dinner was spectacular. (Although the wine waiter is quite annoying.) Eat here. But please don't try and pretend that this is a good hotel to sleep in. Tired, small rooms. Outdated decor. Dingy. Sorry. Not a great overall experience. Drive down the road to... More

We had a superb stay at this hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The stay included an upgrade, dinner (tasting menu), and breakfast in our room. Hanna and her team were welcoming and nothing seemed like it was too much trouble. The room was gorgeous with views over the gardens which were beautiful. They made every effort to make us... More

We took advantage of an Amazon offer for a one night stay. The service was good, the room very good and the staff excellent. The high point was the Tasting Menu which was superb. On departure I asked what the normal D B&B rate would be for a two night stay in mid/late October. The rate quoted was £400 per night !! A little... More

We stayed one night on a deal which included champagne and canapés, dinner, bed and breakfast which exceeded our expectations. The food was excellent as was the friendly service. The hotel and grounds were beautifully maintained and the bedrooms well appointed. I would love to re visit if a similar package was offered in the future.

The selection of cakes and sandwiches were very disappointing for the price of £25 per head champagne extra. Smoked salmon, cucumber, cheese and pickle and egg. The cakes were nothing to write home about and the champagne was warm. No offer of a refill of tea in fact not even a table check.

Stayed last night at the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff were friendly and helpful, bedroom was stunning and everything was immaculately clean and worked perfectly. The dining room is a tad "old fashioned" but the staff and exquisite food made up for that, really charming. A spirited debate with the young French sommelier resulted in a superb choice of... More

Got a deal for a one night dinner, bed and breakfast stay. The room was very comfortable and the hotel great set in well maintained grounds. Dinner was fine, breakfast was excellent. The service was good. No Wi-Fi in room but could get at reception. Would recommend on a package deal but at normal hotel prices this is expensive. A... More

The hotel is located in the picturesque hamlet of Upper Slaughter in the Cotswolds. We know the area having stayed there a number of times. We booked though Secret Escapes and got an excellent deal for a one night dinner, bed and breakfast stay. The room was very comfortable and the hotel was a pleasant stop in well maintained grounds.... More

We stayed at this hotel at the end of August 2014. It is a beautiful building situated in a quiet part of the Cotswolds. We ate at the Michelin starred restaurant and the food was amazing. The only disappointment was the fact that there was a supplementary charge on some of the starters, main courses and desserts. We were not... More

Went for a 24 hour meeting. Very comfortable, good room, great staff. Loved getting a cafe tierce of coffee delivered in morning. Dinner excellent. Breakfast good. Somehow despite lovely building, great staff not quite perfect. But still a lovely hotel.
