I toon my husband here for the evening for dinner & overnight stay for his birthday. Staff very attentive, room not massive but what more do you really need. Food well where can I start so rich flavoursome, I don't usually eat salmon but the fish course starter was just amazing, you couldn't fault the food at all. We looked... More

We arrived on Sunday afternoon and pulled up at the front door, we were met by a female greeter who took our bags and showed us in and offered to park the car! Our room on the ground floor was spotlessly clean, spacious and warm (it was a damp drizzly day). Big bathroom, hot water in the middle of the... More

We had lunch at this hotel. It was an birthday event for a friend. We had drinks before being shown to our table. Service was good. The food was very rich. Beautifully presented but very rich. We did not get much opportunity to look in the garden because of poor weather but the setting of the hotel and restaurant is... More

Really lovely hotel in amazing surroundings. Staff were very kind and helpful. The staff met us at the car to collect bags and park the car for us. We regretted not eating at the restaurant within the hotel as it has such good reviews. The room was beyond our expectations, with soft drinks provided and a bath fit for two... More

I'll be honest, when my girlfriend told me she had booked two night at this hotel for my birthday, I WAS put off by the name !!! It just sounds a little . . . . I don't know . . . inappropriate. Once there, I realised exactly how unworthy the name was. It's simply a brilliant hotel in every... More

It's always a disappointing when you read reviews and look at a hotels website which promises so many things but, in our case didn't deliver. 3 points of dissatisfaction: 1. Our room was tired and needed a refurb. But the real problem was it is situated above a bar. My wife and I went away to get a good nights... More

From the outside this attractive honey coloured old building is the Cotswold fantasy. Inside is more ordinary, certainly, as another contributor pointed out, no "log fires crackling" (cf the hotel website). Our small room is described as a "Country Basic", & that is what it is, basic. Furnishings are country auction house but the bathroom fittings were of good quality.... More

This break was a complete surprise for me until we arrived and I couldn't believe it. A truly beautiful location and an amazing building. We were greeted on arrival and the friendly and warm welcome just continued throughout our stay. The wonderful staff could not do enough and as for the food it was of a truly excellent standard. Our... More

We stopped for just one night as part of the winter warmer deal. The hotel was perfect for us. We needed some peace and tranquillity and that's exactly what we got. I could sit in the drawing room for hours just looking out the beautiful window at the stunning view. The food was fantastic and the staff professional, friendly and... More

We had a fantastic overnight stay in this very friendly hospitable hotel. We took our dog and stayed in one of the 'dog friendly' rooms, which was large and comfortable. The carpet was a tad tired but with dogs frequenting it, was perfectly acceptable. They had laid out a couple of bowls a bottle of water and some 'doggy bags',... More
