4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW via mobile

we really enjoyed our weekend stay in the beautiful Cotswold surroundings, 2 of us and our dog. The service was generally extremely good, polite and helpful. The staff were very attentive from arrival to check out. Very pleasant experience in the evenings with drinks in the bar, although you have no idea how much you might be spending on anything.... After a rather shaky start upon check-in which did, I have to admit, spoil the start of our visit, we thoroughly enjoyed out stay. The hotel is in a lovely location and I can recommend the short walk into Lower Slaughter ... quieter and more tranquil than the honeypot site of Bourton-on-the Water. We stayed in a Rectory Room which... More

I find that giving a hotel treat to my wife as a Christmas present works well and has the added advantage of providing myself with a suppoting role . This Christmas present was an excellent idea and one that we both very much enjoyed fully . The hotel setting was both beautiful and very peaceful , the quality of service... More

We stayed during mid March for two nights and wish it had been longer! From the moment we arrived we knew we had made a good choice, we were greeted at the front entrance and our luggage was taken from us and our car parked. We had an upper floor room which overlooked the courtyard garden, it was peaceful, well... More

We booked a Secret Escape deal for my husbands birthday. We were delighted to find on checking in we had been upgraded to Cornelius - a "Lords" room, which was huge with beams, sofas, chairs and it's own stair case. It was nice to find this time tea trays had been added to the rooms, with a nice coffee for... More

We stayed here in early February. From the moment we arrived the staff were attentive and extremely helpful but not in an overbearing way. The room we had was pleasant, very clean bedding and bathroom but in need of some refurbishment (although it adds to the charm). We had the 5 course tasting menu which was extremely good and breakfast... More

We stayed at the Lords in Upper Slaughter summer 2014 and found the property to be set in an idyllic setting; rolling country side, stone walls separating old farm lands, numerous wash stone buildings most of which have been turned into private residences by people from all over the world. The Hotel is old (naturally) but well taken of and... More

Always wanted to go to this place but found it quite expensive so delighted when it came up on travelzoo. Set in a beautiful part of the Cotswolds and nicely tucked away. We were upgraded to a better room which was a great staff. Staff were very informative and friendly. Room was lovely with a large comfortable bed but lacked... More

We travelled as a couple late February 2015 on a Travelzoo offer. We were met at the door by a member of staff who immediately took our luggage. We were shown to our upgraded room which was on a lower floor at the rear of the building. Nice size room with small but adequate bathroom with gold fittings and beautiful... More

My husband and I recently stayed at this hotel for one night with a Travelzoo deal. The room we stayed in was Stanton which was a good size and up a flight of stairs away from the other rooms which we appreciated. Initially there was a problem with some of the lights not working including the bathroom lights but Ellie... More
