Stayed here recently and had a nice stay overall. On the first night (Friday) we chose to eat in the Brasserie, not very busy with only 2 other tables sat at 8.30. We shared a Duck Confit hash brown with haricot beans and a fried egg for starters which was dreadful, the hash brown being encased in a hard breadcrumb... More

My husband and I booked this hotel for an overnight stay as we were visiting the Highgrove gardens and particularly liked the idea of staying in the lovely town of Tetbury. Our room, overlooking the garden, was delightful with a large modern bathroom and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Breakfast was excellent with a... More

I read a review for The Close Hotel in The Times "cool hotel guide". I kept the review and subsequently planned a visit. I had a very good stay. It is a beautiful historic building and whilst the exterior is traditional the interior is very stylishly modern. Very nice rooms, a beautiful walled garden where we enjoyed pre- dinner drinks.... At the beginning of May my wife & I plus another couple stayed here to celebrate a wedding anniversary. Once they knew it was a special weekend they upgraded us both. The rooms and all soft furnishings were beautiful. The evening meals were excellent in both the brasserie & the restaurant. The breakfast was also very good. The staff were... More

I have spent three nights at The Close with a friend. The weather was rather blustery so we made a great use of the common areas. The Library is a lovely space to catch up and have lengthy conversations. The room was large and well appointed and the wifi strong enough to share videos. Bathroom was new and well stocked.... Service veriy good when we arrived for lunch but tailed off as the w/e wore on - due to the change of staff I guess , this hotel is in a interesting garden setting, The lunch sandwich we had was good but decided not to eat in the hotel again due to unhelpful attitude of the evening staff. We were... More

Beautiful hotel and grounds. Staff very polite and helpful and breakfast just fab. However some attention to detail is required. A selection of normal and herbal teas is usually available but no herbal supplied. I am sure if you asked this would be remedied but surprised at a hotel of this quality you should need to ask. The bathroom was... More

Sampled the fixed price menu, excellent value for money. The staff were very friendly especially the waiter who showed us to our table, just the right level of service not intrusive and didn't feel ignored. Excellent tasty well presented meal.

We spent two nights with friends at The Close on a belated birthday weekend treat. Not a single part of the weekend could have been bettered and every aspect of the hotel was superb. The staff, the beautiful and extremely comfortable decor, dinner, the cosy bar, the breakfast options and afternoon tea in the garden were all fantastic. The rooms... More
