Myself, my girlfriend and my mum took advantage of the lunch deal, £13.50 for two courses. We loved the look of the hotel and all opted for a starter and main course. The food was nice but pretty scarce! I know £13.50 is good value for two courses but this kind of defeats the point if the portions are so... More

My wife and I stayed here as part of a birthday treat. Having seen images on the hotel website we decided to treat ourselves and go for the food ans wine lovers package over 2 nights in one of their four poster rooms. This cost £450; however, given that these rooms are des described as their most luxurious we thought... More

Stayed here just one night in May as we were visiting Highgrove the next day . .Arrived too late for an evening meal , the restaurant was very busy , but had a drink in the bar - beautifully decorated if a little small . We stayed in the Rose room , not yet refurbished so the furnishings were a... More

My wife and I stayed over for a concert at the arboretum nearby... Tetbury is a beautiful small, bustling market town, and The Close Hotel nestles quietly in Long Street. The truth is, if I'd got to sit through a Boyzone concert, then I certainly wasn't going to skimp on the hotel....And we weren't disappointed..this place is the perfect balance... More

We had lunch in the bar whilst visiting the area. We both chose sandwiches which arrived served 'Club Sandwich' style with four portions of three bread triangles. I chose Free range egg mayonnaise, watercress on wholemeal bread and my wife had Cheddar cheese, chive mayonnaise, baby gem lettuce on white bread. Both were served with homemade parsnip crisps and coleslaw... More

An oasis in the centre of Tetbury. Secure parking, a delightful garden and an upgrade to round it all off. A 5 course dinner that showed that less is often more - quality will forever trump quantity. We were very well looked after by all the staff. Looking forward to a revisit - as will the boutiques of the high... More

We recently stayed in a Four Poster room at the Close. The room was adequate, but dated and a little worn, and noisy late at night. The approach corridors have these bizarre strips of curled thick black tape on the carpet which doesn't help the ambience, it was as if they cover wear and tear. There was a pile of... More

Dear David Y, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay. I apologise that some of aspects of your stay were not satisfactory. Since September last year the hotel has undergone a massive refurbishment. The bar, lounge, reception and restaurant are fully completed and 15 of our 18 bedrooms are too completed. The corridors are still undergoing... More
