Fabulous hotel for our short break. The hotel is located just outside of Tetbury and provided an excellent base for our visit to Lacock Village and Dyrham Park. The hotel has plenty of parking and the rooms are tastefully decorated. We were in the more modern block and not in the original old building which was a shame but the... More

We have stayed one night at the Hare and Hound. The first room we were given was very poorly cleaned (dirty toilet seat!) and smelled, so we were 'transferred' into one of the cottages. The room was spacious and well designed, but even here, it wasn't a top notch in terms of cleanliness and state of the decor. The taps... More

Made a reservation and visited the hotel prior to start date. A lovely old property with great charm BUT then found that it had a very poor food hygiene rating from the Council. Only 2 out of 5 which is not at all good. As a result, they switched our reservation without problem to another hotel in the Group -... More

Stayed here overnight whilst seeing a concert at Westonbirt Arboretum. Picturesque, comfortable and lovely breakfast. Hotel was full so service at breakfast was a bit slow but otherwise no negative comments.

I suppose you might call this a country house hotel. It certainly has a lovely feel to its public areas and our bedroom was very comfortable. Though we were in a small block of four rooms quite close to the main road, we weren't disturbed at night by traffic noise. The room was well appointed with two quite comfy armchairs,... More

We stopped here for a drink and it was ok. Conveniently located next to Westonbirt Arbouretum this hotel is typically Cotswolds. A good range of reasonable value drinks but when we were there the servuce was very unfriendly.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that the service in the bar seemed unfriendly. Your comment will be passed on to the staff who are actually all very pleasant people, but perhaps don't always remember that they need to be much more 'smiley' and proactive, especially when busy. More

We have stayed here twice the last two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed both. The staff are friendly, helpful and professional. The accommodation and food were excellent and my husband was able to get around quite easily on his mobility scooter.
