I stayed here in July for a night, as the hotel was a convenient base for the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford. Thanks to nightmarish traffic, I arrived very late on the Friday night. In spite of this, receptionist(?) Freya was very welcoming and helpful - there had been some confusion over my booking (my fault) but it... More

I think some of the reviews regarding this hotel are a little unfair as several complaints are out of the control of the hotel. It is a grade 2 listed building therefore it is a little creaky in places but has character rather than an ubiquitous chain. The location was ideal for us as we were at a wedding 6... More

I stayed 2 nights. Relaxed atmosphere. No lift so have to carry bags upstairs.Central location next to train station (didn't hear trains). Clean room at front of hotel was very noisy at night as there is a Wetherspoons next door open until the early hours. Staff very polite. Thai restaurant in hotel open until 10pm. Good breakfast available.

We stayed two nights at the Imperial Hotel and it was a nice, spacious and clean hotel. The hotel is located next to the Stroud train station so it was within walking distance to everything! We tried the Thai restaurant at the hotel and found the food to be excellent! All in all a good stay except for two things... More

Stayed here for a couple of nights while on a business trip, it's not a bad place to stay but I wouldn't say it's overly exciting. Staff were all foreign, which I have totally no objection too! But the barrier of communicating was made more difficult with the staffs grasp on English. Some spoke it better than others. The room... More

Stayed in Stroud for 2 weeks for business, and overall probably wouldn't stay again. Main pros and cons summarised as follows Pros -Excellent location, literally across the road from the railway station, and a quick walk into town. -Building had character, old fashioned style town hotel. -Breakfast was good. There was a selection of fruits, yoghurts, cereal etc. Hot breakfasts... More

Very convenient location in a beautiful old building with fairly decent breakfast. Stayed here over a few weeks for business. I spent one night in a room over front entrance which was really noisy so staff were very helpful in moving me to a quieter room. The standard of cleanliness in the rooms appeared to be good. TVs small but... More

Dear RE3333. Sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your stay with us. Regarding the room noise, all customers are informed on the website that we are located in the centre of the town of Stroud so some noise could be expected and mainly on weekends. Due to the fact that the hotel is a 2 grade listed hotel, we... More

Without a doubt the very worst hotel I have had the misfortune to stay in! Check in was a fumbling mess. No idea what nationality the guy was but his very poor English made check in very uncomfortable and embarrassing. Rooms very dated bed horrendous, single paned windows meant all the street noise from people swearing screaming and fighting, vehicles... More

Stayed here for one night, rooms are basic and windows difficult to open, but they are clean but have a strange door security system , lots of trouble outside from youths in the early hours, food which was Thai cuisine was very nice, as was breakfast
