Visited end May 2014, loved everything about our stay in this classic hotel. Great room on top floor - cosy and snug; Fabulous location - scenery and views are beautiful; scrummy breakfast - plenty of choice whatever your taste; friendly bar with good choice of ales and snacks; cream teas also available. They even have a bowling green. As mentioned,... More

I recently attended a friends wedding here and as it is "out of the way" we decided to book a room and make the most of our time away. The hotel is beautiful in a quaint way. Our room was lovely and had a massive bed! Breakfast the following morning was very nice with a lovely choice on the menu.... More

Having stayed here in the past on business with foreign clients, and been very impressed with the ambience, my husband suggested we went here as a couple, as part of a weekend commemorating WWI and a Remembrance Day Service at Rodborough Church as he knew I would love it here. We were in the old part of the hotel which... More

What a perfect place to host a wedding, we were lucky to find that our wonderful nephew and his bride had selected the Bear as their venue. The setting is fantastic, the staff are very helpful and the food was excellent both in the bar and the main restaurant. The only small downside for my husband & I was that... More

Culmination of a birthday mystery trip. No disappointment at the Bear. Upgraded room, nice surprise, which was warm, clean and comfortable. Dinner was excellent, the menu suiting us very well as did breakfast. All the staff we met were helpful and friendly especially one waitress on her gapyear (good luck whoever you are) All in all a very pleasant experience... More

I visited the hotel for a school reunion and stayed for B and B. The room was OK for the money. The receptionists (over the phone and face-to-face) were not exactly accommodating. I had had a 4 hour car journey and had enquired beforehand whether there would be anywhere for me to wash and change. I was told no.The main... More

Thank you for you recent review on tripadvisor. I’m sorry to hear that your stay was not brilliant on this occasion. All bedrooms are guaranteed from 2pm on the day of arrival for all guests. This is to ensure that there is sufficient servicing time between departures and arrivals. I can only apologise that due to the level of occupancy,... More

Beautiful hotel in the heart of the scenic Cotswolds. Perfect landing spot from which to tour nearby villages Cirencester, Cheltenham, Bourton-on-the-Water and Broadway. It's the quintessential inn and tavern of the American imagination--coming upon this hotel in a clearing at the top of a hill, we could almost pretend we were weary 1700s travelers setting up at an inn for... Thank you very much indeed for your review. It is always encouraging for the staff to hear such positive comments about their service and how accommodating they can be. I am pleased to say that due to recent feedback we have now changed our local meat suppliers. Our steaks are once again the most popular dish on the menu, which... More

The hotel is lovely with lots of character and charming little rooms. it is close to the Rodbourgh common which was good for a little walk. We stayed on a package with 3 course... More
