Thank you so much to everyone at The Bear for looking after us all so well during our special celebration weekend! We all had such a good time and the staff were wonderful! This was the perfect place for our large family group of 19, with bedrooms to suit everyone and the private dining room for our Saturday evening celebration... More

The Bear is a very welcoming mix of ancient coaching inn and modern hotel, grouped around an inner courtyard room which, due to bad weather, was not available for use (but there are plenty of other lounges as well as the bar). Its location on a country road makes the Bear really quiet (although some machinery downstairs made a low... More

I'd be happy to stay at any of this excellent Cotswold group of hotels - there's six of them I think. The two in Burton are particularly cosy and beautifulthough I've only had afternoon tea at those whereas I stayed for weekend at The Bear. Great small rooms but very indulgently decorated. An indulgent, romantic weekend away stay. Can't understand... More

What a delightful wedding venue! We even had snow! The hotel is quaint and the staff polite and helpful. The wedding services were good , meal was tasty and good size portions. Room 4 was fairly spacious overlooking the outside courtyard so no noise. Although my daughter was in a room above the bar and didn't have a good nights... More

Stayed on Boxing Day night after visiting relatives. Hotel overlooking the common with loads of interesting rooms. Good service although relatively quiet. Room was compact but comfortable with all mod cons. Wide choice at breakfast.

A slightly odd title I grant you but not if you have tendencies towards OCD. In which case you would be advised to get up early on departure day in order to check the 14 yes 14 drawers that were provided in our room in the annex overlooking gardens & car park. As well as this dubious luxury the room... More

A family Christmas meal which included 14 adults and 6 children. The food was faultless it was piping hot even though it was a big order to serve all at once. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we walked through the door. The waitresses/waiters couldn't of done enough for us nothing was too much trouble. There were... More

Private birthday party for immediate family(all adults) was a great success and Dinner was served in the Tower Restaurant - the Library was in use for a Party Night. All requested arrangements had been made (cake, balloon, gift) and the excellent food was enhanced by the excellent service. Our previous multiple visits to this hotel were made some 45 years... This hotel is in a great location and a lovely hotel but the restaurant was a big disappointment. We booked in for Sunday lunch expecting great things but the Chief must have had a day off. Starters where straight out of the fridge. I had pate that was average with crisp bread, no warm toast, The Sunday roast was of... More

Attended a family function, a four course meal, and although the food was good the table service was very poor. The food was pre-ordered but this seemed to make no difference. Both on the first (Soup) and the mains ( I had Guinea Fowl ) by the time all the table was served those who were served first had cold... More
