Going away for our anniversary was a rare treat so booking a so called B&B though gogroopie seemed an easy exciting trip! Oh how wrong we were ! PLEASE BE AWARE gogroopie have since cancelled their advert as they also have been appalled with the standard of accommodation and hygiene that this so called B&B offered! Bad communication started almost... More

I was involved in an accident in London and could not return. The guests ignored the arrangements I had made for collecting the key and for their breakfast and unexpectedly turned up at the emergency contact I gave them when I knew I could not return. There is no point trying to defend anything else these people say as it... More

Very friendly and accommodating host. Interesting 1600s building, but not recommended for anyone with mobility problems as access is via two spiral staircases. Large bedroom with small attached ensuite and amazing exposed roof beams. We enjoyed our stay.

This is obviously a rant by a disgruntled customer. I apologise for their inconvenience. Something has obviously upset them to be this virulent. I can only reiterate to prospective guests, do look at the website to understand about our house. We are a bed and breakfast and not a hotel. Please look at other reviews to gain a balanced perspective... More

We stayed two nights. I have minor mobility problems and really struggled with the two tight spiral staircases. No handrail and a bit scary. Shudder to think what would have happened in a fire as we didn't see any fire precautions. The room is lovely but a TV would be good. The room wasn't clean and the shower area had... More

I am so sorry the guest found the shower grubby, it has some mould where the grout is which we have scheduled for renewing. I am sorry the guests were not warned, as the website does clearly explain, that there is no TV and the property is very old, grade 2 listed and not suitable for those with mobility problems. More

Stayed for 3 nights in March as a base to launch myself at the Cheltenham Festival bookies. OK, the establishment isn't the Ritz, the room was clean and the single bed incredibly comfy. It did appear I was staying in what used to be one of Caroline's son's room but so what, it did the job. The shower took a... More

2 nights in Stroud. Check out my full review at Hotels.com. Family home used as B&B. Occupied one of the son's bedrooms. Very clean. Quite surprised no TV available. House is a tad untidy but I was welcomed in like a family member. Will stay there again.

Friendly, welcoming, charmingly quirky. The spiral stairs are not easy - I needed two arms to hold the walls as I went down as i felt a tad insecure - but luggage was carried by the owner, so not a problem. Bed comfortable, decoration and ornaments eclectic, en-suite shower rather tired but plenty of hot water. Breakfast just what I... More

I was welcomed by an envelope addressed to myself and which contained a front door key and a note from Mrs Denny giving directions to my room and inviting me to phone her friend (Jane) re breakfast etc as she was away. The room was up two flights of winding stairs, one wooden and the other stone and not carpeted,... More

Caroline Denny welcomed me like an old friend to her wonderful 17th century famlly home with its amazing spiral staircases, ancient oak beams, warm paintwork and comfy beds. She couldn't have been more helpful, finding me a safe parking place, sorting out wifi and so on. Sadly I could only stay one night, as I had to go home, but... More
