we had a lovely comfortable room, tea and coffee making. The lodge was obviously very popular with good food menus. Surprise when opening curtains to find a cow munching on the flower bed! Breakfast was good and we went back to get ready for the wedding we were guests of. The room was not serviced as we were still in... More

Fine local food cooked diligently and sauced perfectly. It was served with a smile and a chat with friendly staff. The views from the restaurant are stunning, and the ambience comfy and stylish. I'll be back asap !

Called in at 4:30 to see if we needed to book for evening food, but we're told no need. When we arrived there were no tables so we were sat in the bar next to a wet dog, didn't fancy this so went outside!! When food eventually arrived without any cutlery, it was very disappointing!! Stone cold, rock hard veg... More

We spent two nights at the Old Lodge this week, having booked a visit to the nearby gardens at Highgrove. Located on top of the common there are panoramic views all round We had dinner in the restaurant both nights and the food was delicious, well presented and served by a young friendly and attentive staff. Our double room was... More

The Old Lodge was the best thing about our stay in the Cotswolds. It was a nightmare to find (make sure you have GPS!!!) but once we finally got there, it was amazing! Super friendly staff, the in-house bar served amazing food and there was a fantastic outside area with views over the common.

A lovely old building set in a beautiful location right in the middle of the common. The lady that checked us in was very helpful and took us up to our room which on first impression was lovely, very unusual furnishings and looked very smart. We had been told that the place has recently been re furbished but found our... More

Stayed one night in the upgraded 'Superior' room. Very large, bright and airy and spotlessly clean. Wonderful views over the common. Given that the Old Lodge is a pub restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised at the lack of noise - once the children had left the garden- and a good night's sleep was had by us both. Breakfast menu is... More

Stayed on a Saturday night - we'd booked the cheapest room but within 30 seconds decided it was far too small and we upgraded to a Superior Room (would have been very disappointed if we hadn't changed). Was a very friendly pub with helpful staff. Had a lovely meal in the evening and the upgraded room was very nice. Breakfast... More
