Having read the mainly positive reviews we expected a great stay but whilst it was okay, we left feeling a bit disappointed. So, the positives - It is centrally located in Stow right on the square. it is very clean and the staff friendly. The negatives - Our room "Buck" was tiny. Just enough room to get into bed but... Room noisy (Muntjac room - large gap under doors - heard every sound from bar below). Poor decoration in bedroom - had been patched up rather than done properly. Window-blind was too thin to actually keep our the floodlighting. Room not cleaned during 3-day stay - and wasn't very clean to start with. Replacement towels provided on the 3rd day... More

Although we have eaten a few times at lunchtime, this was our first overnight stay - with our Golden Retriever who was made very welcome - at the White Hart Inn We bookedthe Stag room - the most luxurious of the handful of rooms available - and it didn't disappoint. The room overlooks the lovely square and has a beautiful... More

Stayed in the Stag room for two nights. The Inn is well appointed with great modern and classic features - fireplaces, exposed wood together with modern facilities. The room was clean and a good size. No sound from the bar downstairs and the bath was a good size as well. The food - excellent. Would recommend just on the great... More

Having stayed in Stow many times over the years in several different hotels, I must say that I like this hotel the best. It has a quirky, contemporary feel within a fabulous historic building- there are small hobbit doors and twisty, creaky corridors. Our room ‘Stag’ with an amazing freestanding bath, also had a perfect view overlooking the market square.... More

Stayed at the White Hart on a Friday night during a birthday trip to the Cotswolds (also taking in the Village Pub at Barnsley). Overall, a really great place to stay; ideally located right in the centre of pretty Stow. Décor is well balanced between traditional and stylish – the restaurant is especially well done (look out for the antique... More

Was taken here as a surprise for my birthday, it is a small hotel with only 5 rooms run by a family. We had the top priced room called the stag which was lovely. We were greeted by the owner when we arrived who was very friendly throughout the whole stay. We were shown to our room, she explained breakfast... More

Stayed here at Xmas for 2 nights in what was described as a budget room. On arrival at 3.00pm we had to wait 15mins for someone to see to us. We were approached by a scruffy looking man who didn't introduce himself but we understood he was the owner and who advised us that our room wasn't ready and we... More

We've just spent a wonderful weekend in this hotel. We knew it would be good as it had been recommended by relatives before we went. But now I'm happy to say we can add to those. From the friendliness of the staff, to the rooms and quality of the food, everything was so lovely. It felt laid back and relaxing,with... More
