The Porch house is an interesting slightly quirky hotel in Stow. Being such a popular place and arriving on Easter Monday parking was difficult until late afternoon when we found a space just outside. We received a warm friendly reception from Michael who at the time was serving in the bar.The dining room was still undergoing renovation following a fire... More

Porch House is lovely to look at (lots of care gone into decor) but this is not followed through in our experience of our room or of service in general. No-one to get a key from on arrival, certainly no smiling welcome. Standard room was tiny, one person at a time only able to squeeze through door past bed, and... More

We stayed here for one night, booking at short notice over the Easter break. The hotel is situated on the main road through stow, with only a small car park at the rear. However, this was closed due to renovation work,so we parked a few streets away. On arrival the building is very old and quirky, but the interior has been very tastefully renovated,with... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights, eating in the restaurant for one night. The staff are very friendly and our meal arrived at lightening speed. The food was delicious. The only cons: we could hear next door's tv very loudly for much of the evening. The sticky toffee pudding wasn't the best I have ever had -... More

The food was lovely and tasty I had a chicken Stilton and apple sandwich comes with skin on chips yum yum we also shared a scotch egg to die for. Next time we will make more time to enjoy the surroundings. Very nice... More

We booked this hotel direct a few weeks before hand. We checked in at 3pm,the key was given about 35 mins later, shown to room, left at door, so we found out about the fixtures ourselves. Very small but well appointed room, the bathroom was spotless with a nice shower but the sink was tiny, could not use to wash... More

We my partner and I. Have stayed in stow many times including Christmas. This Christmas while staying in stow (with our two jack russels). we went to what as the Royalist now THE PORCH HOUSE, For a drink. What a difference, this place is absolutely fantastic. First the refurbishment is top notch. On arrival the staff are so welcoming and... More

If I could take their decor and put it in my own house, I absolutely would! Every single touch point in the place was premium, even the radiators are absolutely gorgeous. The beds are pocket sprung which can only be described as the type of bed that hugs you while you sleep with ultra comfy bedding. Only downside for me... More

We booked a weekend for a birhday treat. The positives were the lovely, atmospheric bar area and the gorgeous snug with a roaring fire...perfect for a winter retreat. Breakfast on the first morning perfect..wonderful eggs benedict. When we booked there were only standard rooms available and these really are quite small (sink in the bathroom smallest i have ever seen!)... More
