This is our second visit to this hotel and I can recommend it for it's central location and friendly staff. Whilst the decor overall could undoubtedly benefit from an update the rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. Parking available. We dined and had breakfast in the restaurant and found the food to be good and the staff most helpful.... More

I made my booking on Thursday last week, Louise was very helpful and made the reserving process very easy, straight forward and informative. When I checked in (20/10/14) I was greeted by Becky who is the Duty Manager, again very informative and helpful and was more or less on hand for the duration of the stay. The hotel is located... My friends booked afternoon tea for me to celebrate my birthday! we were advised to book as they get busy! on arrival everyone was more interested in lighting a fire [on a very warm day!] than asking if they could help us, we were shown to the bar area, after 10 mins our drinks order was taken , the tea... I have never stayed in a hotel where the staff were so willing and helpful but just could not get it right, until the restaurant manager came on duty. We stayed 3 nights and had a room with a patio for our small dog. The room was clean but basic and certainly lacking light in one corner. The patio lights... More

I stayed here with my husband as part of a red letter day gift for our first wedding anniversary. It is in a very central location with a convenient car park. The reception staff were very polite and efficient and couldn't have been more helpful. We stayed in one of the rooms facing the street and it was quite noisy... More

We are frequent visitors to this part of the country and over the years have stayed at many hotels and guest houses, depending on availability. We thought its position is central and might stay there later in the year. So, we thought lets have lunch to get the "feel" of the place. We went in around 2 /2.30pm and it... More

This room should never be let to a couple as one side of the bed is under an eave with a big beam. If you're over 5' you cannot get out of bed on that side without whacking yourself senseless. They had no other rooms. So we put a suitcase where my hubby's feet would land hoping it would remind... More

My partner and I regularly use the hotel as a weekend base for his team whilst attending Jamie Oliver's excellent food and music 'Feastival' 6 miles away near Kingham. The hotel is traditional with an old world charm and has recently come under new management with refurbished rooms. We previously occupied antiquated rooms in the main building, which had their... We stayed here in sept and really enjoyed our night there, because of a mistake in the booking we were upgraded to a superior room, boy it was just lovely, really spacious and full of character.. We didn't eat an evening meal here so can't comment on it, the breakfast was lovely and the service was great. We would stay... More

Booked this hotel for my wife & myself for a weekend away 6th September 2014. When we arrived we were told that the hotel had been trying to contact me to advise of problem with our booking. The receptionist gave me an email address & a telephone number both of which were incorrect. Funny really as the hotel had sent... More
