We wanted to stay longer but couldn't. It must be the smartest place with the restaurant, although quiet, absolutely first rate. One of our children is Coeliac (strictly gluten free) and the chef and staff were very accommodating. Excellent quality in the furnishings and staff were lovely. Obviously this is owned by people that love doing what they do. At... More

Hubby and I stayed at Number Four recently and would thoroughly recommend this small hotel in the Cotswolds. On arrival, we found the staff to be both professional and welcoming. Our room was, as others have noted, small but it was nicely furnished and equipped. On the very minor downside, the room had a few ‘scuffs’ on the wall and... More

Just a one night stay but perfect in every way. Clean and comfortable accommodation with friendly but professional staff. We had an excellent breakfast and are determined to stay longer the next time and sample dinner!

Our room for ladies travel group was remedied by staff to convert the double bed into two twins easily enough. The supper of cold fish sounds drab, but was an excellent meal, the chocolate dessert was terrific. Indeed I loved the goat cheese small plate the best. Too far from town to walk after five grueling days in London streets.

We are just back from a short break in the Cotswolds and stayed at number 4 at Stow. It was highly recommended by friends and we were not disappointed. The hotel is located a short distance from Stow and offers about 15 or so rooms and suites. We had booked a room and found it was ready when we checked... More

My daughter and I stayed for a walking weekend before I do a 26 mile hike to raise money for Macillan. We have stayed at Number Four on previous occasions but not at Stowe. The staff, while pleasant enough, seemed unable to do anything without checking with the manager and keeping us waiting. The room was pokey (103). we found... More

We've just had a fabulous break in the Cotswolds. Staying at Number Four was a very important part. Very friendly and helpful staff, superb rooms and an excellent restaurant. Plus, the location close to Stow is right in the centre of the many villages and attractions. We had a terifific break and will go again to Number Four!

This was our second visit to Number Four and it didn't disappoint. The hotel is close to Stow with it's own excellent restaurant. Owners and staff very friendly and provide excellent service. Standard room are a little on the small side but comfortable. Good value for money

We traveled the fully family with our 4 grown up kids. Number Four offered family room that fitted our 4 kids very comfortably. We stayed there 2 nights. The other room was very spacious, modern and comfortable. The family room has 4 beds in 2 rooms. The regular room had nice living room with sofa and armchair instead of the... More

Tricia and Caroline are consummate hosts. Comfortable, modern inn with a great dining room and kitchen. Great location from which to explore the area. To really see the area, plan several days or a return trip. Numerous sites need time to explore.
