We stayed in Painswick for one night on Wednesday 23rd May to see the Olympic torch en route to Cheltenham racecourse. We arrived early but were immediately welcomed and shown to room 3, large and comfortable, with an excellent, good-sized en-suite bathroom. Lunch was delicious, and during the afternoon, although the hotel was packed with sightseers, the charming staff dealt... More

Anyone considering a trip to beautiful Painswick should not hesitate to stay at the new Falcon Inn. A group of us stayed there while we walked some of the Cotswold Way and we were really well looked after. The food was great, and plentiful, and we were made to feel really welcome. Lovely people! Will visit again soon I hope.

My wife and I stayed and dined at the Falcon Inn. Loved it. Painswick is small and does not have the crowds of tourists that one encounters in the better known Cottswold villages, but it is worth a short stop. The Inn is right on the main street and couldn't be easier to find. Our room was simple but very... More

We went for Sunday lunch here on Sunday and whilst the food was superb, the service was shocking. Despite there being a couple of free tables, we were told (by whom we assumed to be the manager) that she didn't think she'd be able to accommodate us as there wasn't enough room. We skipped starters as we were very hungry... More

Stayed here last night for a birthday party in Stroud. This was the only hotel that would allow me to stay just one night this was is a great thing, especially when your budget is tight. We stayed in room 11 which was lovely, if I came back id choose this room again, it was massive 1 double and 2... More

Selected the Falcon for dinner the night before our daughter's wedding, and for some of our guests to stay. We contacted several Painswick B&Bs months ahead and went to look see. The Falcon just looked right from the start and the team matched that early impression - Charlie, our first contact was immediately 'can do', and David's follow-up and speedy/ready... More

David and his staff are excellent hosts. My cousin, teenaged son and daughter and I enjoyed a delicious evening meal of roasted lamb shank, venison stew, chicken, leek and mushroom pie and an Irish Stew. Alongside was a large platter of steamed vegetables. Thoroughly delectable! Very cozy and inviting dining area. My children and I shared a large, comfortable room... More

Great Inn for seeing Painswick or walking the Cotswolds Way. The staff were excellent and the food is great. Rooms are clean, tidy and fresh. Good off road parking. The Inn is located in very nice part of Painswick with views of the church. Would stay again.

A good base for day trips around the Cotswolds sited away from the obvious tourist honey pots.Painswick is an uncommercialised, unspoilt village with plenty of history. This family run hotel is a good mixture of guests and locals, friendly atmosphere with good hosts, excellent food and real ales. Adequate car park behind the hotel. Separate building for Sports fans to... More
