We stayed in the hotel at the begiining of august for three nights. We've got room 11.The room was clean and spacious(two adults and two children). But the room could get a serious maintenace turn,eg the paint and the bathroom. The food at night was really good and so was the breakfast.Staff was very helpfull and kind.It can get noisy when there is... We stayed at the Falcon Inn by default having been turned away from the nearby Cotswold88 hotel as we have a small dog. And very glad we were too! The Falcon is a quintessential English coaching inn, Mr Pickwick would have felt at home here. The room was spacious and well furnished, the food excellent and the staff friendly and... More

We are vegan so ordered stir fry with rice, it was perfectly edible just not brilliant. Vegetables were a little overdone. Staff were very helpful and the atmosphere was pleasant, for example directing us to somewhere we could get cakes for our walk and fast.

Although we live 60 miles away, I've been here for Sunday lunch twice in a month. Once with friends as we walked the Cotswold Way and today with my wife and son. The food and service were very good indeed on both occasions. I was grumpy on arrival today when told our table wasn't ready (my fault, we were early)... More

Having read the reviews on here I realise this is a work in progress. The public areas have been renovated but the upstairs and the bedroom (room2 on the top floor) were in need of serious maintenance. The carpet was very old as was the decor. We had an evening meal which was all right and the breakfast would have... More

Did not stay here so cannot comment on rooms, we ate here 3 times, 2 main meals and a lovely cream tea. Food was excellent and served by very friendly staff. It is under new ownership and they are updating the decor. Highly recommended.

Overall this was a very good place to stay. Excellent food and location. Our disappointment was the bathroom. The main room had obviously been updated recently but the bathroom was awful. It had some sort of pump system behind the toilet similar to what you would get in a boat this was probably because there was no other outlet for... More

Film set village - in which The Falcon plays its central part. Essentially an old inn, brought up to date sympathetically by current owners who are very friendly. Excellent family accommodation and family room in annex is one of the best at this price. If you want a village atmosphere, a character olde worlde property, good food and drinking and... More

Been here twice now and on both occasions the food, service and hospitality were really good. Slightly above pub food prices but the meals are really worth in and good value. It's almost worthy of the price just to look over Painswick Church yard which is magnificent.

Arriving into The Cotswolds was like entering a scene from “Game of Thrones” a road with no markings, no speed cameras, no traffic and we all had our eyes wide open for the “White Walkers” Many parts of Great Britain are beautiful (Indeed I am fortunate enough to live in the most beautiful pictures countries in the world!) The Cotswolds... More

The Falcon Inn sits opposite a quintessential English village church with its famous 99 clipped yew trees sitting in its grounds. The Falcon was first opened as a coaching inn in the 16th century and carries out the aims of the coaching inn to this day, the transport to it is just a little bit different. Great food, service and hospitality are provided at value for money prices. Painswick is not to be missed and the Falcon is the place to stay. ... more   less
