Stayed her for new year...what a lovely place ! We had a very comfortable room at the front with gorgeous views of the village and of the famous 99 yew trees of st Mary's. Excellent food, superb service, cosy and welcoming ambience and a wonderful location. A gem of a place...will definitely return

We discovered this lovely place when staying at another Painswick hotel in 2013 - we had ventured into the village to eat out and discovered The Falcon, and what a delightful discovery it was! The food was so delicious and the service so welcoming and friendly that we returned to stay for a short break in 2014. A family run... More

This was our second visit. The first time in the summer we had a lovely outdoor lunch. This time a Sunday lunch and it was very nice. The only minor issue was a tiny portion of vegetables. Excellent puddings.

This was a lovely very welcoming Inn, we were friends who had met on holiday in the Caribbean and decided to meet up again. Five couples stayed at this place in Painswick which was excellent. At breakfast you could have anything you wanted very obliging and evening meal was delicious, ate here on the two nights we stayed. John and... More

I have taken my family here once, and friends' from out of the area as well. On one occasion we ate here for lunch, another time just a drink. On each occasion they allowed us / accommodated our Spaniel (non-doggy people need not worry, as the dogs aren't allowed in most areas). The food was very good and the red... More

My wife and I attended a family reunion at the Falcon. Our room was spacious yet cosy with good views over the churchyard and its 80 yew trees. At dinner there was an extensive menu and the food was tasty. Unfortunately, the scallops which had been ordered were lukewarm at best. There was a good atmosphere, helped by friendly staff. The... Sloping floors, view of churchyard and steeple, and the hills were magic. Lovely décor, great meal, helpful staff, comfortable bed. Loved it. Able to find out a bit more regarding the area from the lovely lady who served us breakfast. Those friendly interactions add so much to make a holiday truly enjoyable.

We had a long weekend with kids and we could really appreciate the Cotswolds peaceful landscape stopping by and resting at Falcon Inn in Painswick. We had a room for four, very confortable and wide, old style but very charming. Restaurant downstairs in the hotel dining was very warm and with good natural food. Looking forward to getting back one... More

Downstairs, in the public rooms, this is a fantastic boutique hotel. Great décor, spaces and nooks, lovely service, and excellent food. Upstairs, the guest rooms have quality linen and toiletries. Otherwise, the impression is more corner shop than boutique. Doors have three keyholes, although only one works, furnishings are either old or flat-pack, lights are operated by wall switches (although... More

With an enviable location in the main street of one of the most interesting villages in the Cotswolds, and therefore a good centre for exploring the area or, in our case, a perfect stopover during a journey from the north to the southwest, this traditional coaching inn retains its authentic atmosphere without any attempt at 'tarting up'. We stayed in... More
