This is a lovely destination pub. Welcoming, delicious food but still, at its heart, a lovely country pub. Not to mention the charming village of Painswick. Every time I'm in the area I check in for a pint and it always feels lovely. Somehow the landlord has managed to notice this and I always get a warm welcome which makes... More

I have stayed at the Falcon frequently over the past few months for business. The rooms are tastefully furnished with great amenities (kitkats always beat the usual stale hotel biscuits, and the White Company toiletries are great). The restaurant is almost full every night, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is a real winner (especially if you compare this... More

Went with extended family for Christmas Day lunch and it was excellent. Ample room in the pub to eat even though it was busy. Food was great and good choice of dishes for each course. The staff were very pkeasant, attentive and efficient. Overall a very good experience and will definitely visit again.

Excellent choice of dishes as well as the standard Sunday roasts. I had cockles as a starter, which was a first as an option on a restaurant menu, for me and they were excellent. Plenty of vegetables. Good choice of sweets.

We rolled up for a very late Sunday lunch after a walk...not the best time to expect a great meal. But what a surprise..the staff were still fresh and extremely helpful. The food was beautifully presented, beautifully cooked...and plenty of it. I couldn't fault it having had much worse in restaurants.

Lovely warm welcome at this hotel, (room 7) lovely big room, comfortable bed. It was cold weather and we had to ask for an extra heater, which was supplied with no problem. The plumbing left a little to be desired, however it's an old building and we didn't mind putting up with it. The staff were friendly and very helpful... More

We stayed overnight here and were hugely impressed with everything. Painswick deserves its fame as a beautiful Cotswold Town and the location of tha Falcon was ideal. Our double room was really delightful and had a great view of the church across the road. We had dinner which was delicious and very reasonably priced. We slept well and our breakfast... More

I can see from all the other reviews of this hotel that people seem genuinely very happy with their experience but I'm so surprised no-one has mentioned the noise! We stayed in room 6 overlooking the church courtyard at the front and it was very noisy - even as a little village road it gets very busy and cars were... More

Our second visit to the Cotswolds and we managed to find a ‘deal’ at The Falcon. A cheery welcome, checked in and found our room (number 1) on the top floor with a view of the church opposite. There is plenty of parking at the rear of the hotel. Very nice room, extremely comfortable kingsize bed, tea & coffee making... More

Crisp clean sheets and rooms were spotless. Service was warm, friendly and professional. Location was superb. Room with a view of the local church and located in one of the most beautiful villages in the Cotswolds. Not as commercial as many other areas. Breakfast (included) and dinner were of an exceptional quality. An all round 5 star experience - from... More
